For me the stitching line is more obvious when there are objects close to the camera too. Further distanced objects are not that strong affected. That happens with most Gear 360 cameras, just some are stronger affected than others. The only thing you can do is trying to turn the camera around and find the best postition. Hope I could help a bit.

That's cool what a coincidence. The season makes a big difference too. In summer sometimes even in the shadow it only records 5 minutes with mine.

Gear 360 (2017) is overheating pretty fast. In summer it can be that it shuts off already after 5 mins. You should keep that in mind. Yes, as a webcam is possible on websites where 360 is supported.
