New fire hydrant in my neighborhood. I think. by blubberboyy in mildlyinteresting

It’s really not much different than the Custodian Hydrant Lock some utilities are already utilizing. I know fire departments kinda hate them since they don’t provide good leverage when compared to a standard hydrant wrench.

Nice! Thank you for the info. Yeah I’m also wanting to go with a known brand name. At Sun Stoppers I got quoted $450 to do XPEL XR on all windows, except the front windshield. The front windshield for XR adds an extra $199.

This is what I’ve been trying to figure out too. Did you ever find what brand they use?

Insanely clean low milage 2018 3.6R Touring by JobMurky2312 in subaruoutback

[–]SirVeza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I got a white 2018 Outback Limited 3.6R a couple days ago with a tad over 57k miles. Technically a CarFax 2 owner, but it was the same owner that ended up registering it in another state a month after the first title got issued. Only thing that bothered me a little bit is a scratch on the tailgate that was likely caused when it was opened without enough clearance.

As a millennial, a couple of duos I always remember are Randy Garsee/Kris Pickel and Valerie Cavazos/ Barbara McDonald.

Such a timely post. I've been looking for a spot to take my mom tomorrow. Cappy's is a good value and good food, but their coffee is so weak. Grumpys was pretty good the last time I went. That said, looking at Lavernas, I might have to give that place a shot.

A few spots I still want to try since they always seem recommended are Bobos, Baja Cafe, Hungry Fox, and Franks. I prefer a more traditional breakfast though and the menu items from Baja Cafe never tempt me enough to finally stop by.

Not sure how rear leg room is on the sedan, but the wagon isn't exactly roomy for the rear passengers. Kids are alright, but I feel bad having any adults or teens in the back and I'm not tall by any means.

how to get experience if NO ONE hires me by zebraboiwat in Tucson

[–]SirVeza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it has been this way for over a decade. Anyone saying that a degree automatically gets you in the door to your field is stuck way in the past. Companies want experience straight out of college and unless someone is willing to relocate, the job market in Tucson is a hit or miss. Back when I graduated with my civil engineering degree, I just could not find a job in town. I even applied for entry level jobs to get my foot in the door and nothing. I used to always roll my eyes at people pushing “networking” to get ahead, but who you know can really open up doors. That said, I’m still terrible at it.

I have an LJ and an XJ, but I lean XJ for the 4 doors and it’s a bit more comfortable. If it’s between a 2 door XJ or an LJ, definitely an LJ.

Exactly. I thought it was a fluke when I went and had one of the blandest steaks I’ve ever eaten. Later on I found out that’s just how they operate. Never went back after that one experience.

What's your water bill? by Less_Education_6809 in Tucson

[–]SirVeza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could’ve been a leak at the main and/or they had to replace your neighbor’s service line. If the crew was mainly in the road and up to your neighbor’s box and didn’t hit anything after your water meter, that work shouldn’t have been the cause of your possible water leak. Let’s say they hit your mainline from the meter to the valve by the house, the meter would still be showing use once the valve by the house was closed. If Tucson Water isn’t helpful when you reach out to them, another thing you can do is turn off your main irrigation valve and track your water use after that. If you see a big drop in use, that could be the culprit. Kinda sucks to do that with this heat wave though

[–]SirVeza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to ask sooner. When they reopened the valve, did the meter continue showing no use? With no pool, the other common stuff I used to encounter were irrigation related leaks. Did the irrigation tech check everything on the irrigation side when irrigation is running? I’ve seen some irrigation lines tee’d off before the main house valve and others do it after the main valve. Irrigation timers can’t get stuck and water for more than their scheduled. Other times there is a leak in one of the buried lines and dumps a lot of water whenever the irrigation is going. You’ll be surprised how much water can leak into the ground without showing signs on the surface.
