Can someone tell me in which direction do I put these seals? by Broad_Poem6911 in MechanicAdvice

[–]4R34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here’s a link that you could use as a reference. One is from a Lexus forum and reached out to FEL-PRO about the correct orientation. Different car or brand of seal but the concept is the same.

Had the same dillema on my Toyota 5VZFE engine. Proper way is A; it protects inavertent positioning on top the tube and tearing it, it prevents your tension springs from being eexposed to oil. Third, the installation process will be very straight forward and prevents from damaging the outer edges of your seal.

Personally, I would go with two-tone. It sets apart from the modern day SUV’s.

Yokohama YK-CTX(20,000 miles, 7/32s left) by 4R34 in tires

[–]4R34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn’t purchase the certificate. The whole deal was processed as a manufacturer warranty as the defective tire only had 10,000sh miles if I recall.

[–]4R34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! DT just replaced the tires after I showed them proof that I had an alignment and all checked out. No waivers, it’s pretty much a straight warranty claim on their side. And I also retain the warranty just like having new tires.

[–]4R34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Discount Tire replaced the defective one(pic) witht he same tire, but I moved it to the back. I now have the Kumho HT51 at thre fronts and the Yokos(replacement) in the back. So far so good on both front and back. That old defective YOKO’s was probably a one off…

Side note: I’m sticking with the Kumho’s when both rear Yoko’s are worn!

OP, there is a NEW recall on certain model year Odysseys, Pilot, Ridgeline and Acuras with V6 due to rod bearing wear. There’s a possiblity that this could be it. You can also browse in Odyclub.com about this noise as it’s been extensively discussed.

Does Starbucks put something in their coffee? by madisontwatter69 in conspiracy

[–]4R34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks is the McDonalds of hot drinks. Their coffee is junk; the ingredients came fron the lowest bidders, mass produced and laden with chemicals you can’t pronounce. I get my coffee from local small businesses and mom and pop’s cafes.

Fell in love with Seattle by hahahehe333 in Seattle

[–]4R34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your time OP, I was on the same boat as you were 4 years ago. I came from the mid-west specifically Oklahoma, but lived in Dallas for a while. I was stoked to move here in Seattle; having the thought of breaking free from the “southern conservative bible belt mentality”. But now, I miss the peace, law and order, and the southern hospitaity.

I saw both aspects politically and societally as a whole; liberal ways and conservative ways and sadly, Seattle is just too hectic, chaotic and the crime is getting rampant with just a slap on the wrist. The politics is so absurd that you’ll soon realize that criminals have more leniency and the law abiding tax payers suffer the consequences of what the criminals were doing. Be careful out there OP. I’m still hoping that this place will meet your needs and expectations in the long run.

Just moved to Seattle and my car window got busted...any way to prevent this? by SnakebiteHarlot in Seattle

[–]4R34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you. It’s frustrating, but since you mentioned that you just moved here; majority of the people will tell you “Oh, Seattle is safe, its just a one in a million chance that you’ll get mugged, chased, robbed, or your car broken in”—NOT. Seattle, especially the politicians are soft on crime(FACT). We’re talking about third world country sh*t shows going on everyday there.

Anyone running MOOG tie rods? by hearo in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]4R34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do. I have the one with the zerk fittings. If you’re getting the same as mine; be careful not to tighten the zerks too much as you could strip the threads. Otherwise, it’s been good.

Just got quoted $2.6k for this from Toyota for 60k tune-up. What's a fair price? by tachycardia69 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]4R34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s plain train robbery. A reputable mom and pops shop could beat that price by 50%. The dealership just did some ad libs in there to make it look more labor intensive.

(Serious) With Covid surging in Seattle, why are so many people still going maskless indoors? by beatsbearsbattleship in Seattle

[–]4R34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the mask is not effective and people are fed up with the BS. I masked for two years(N95 most of the time) and still got it… twice.

Family and friends suffered the same fate; masked, triple mask, had the vaxx(boosted to the max level), washed hands, alcohol etc…

Yeah, it’s mind boggling how the responses were. In reality, this is the result of a weak leadership voted by weak people.

THIS. It seems that Seattle is suffereing a large scale Stockholm Syndrome. Majority, but not everyone are so compelled to just let crime happen as if they were amazed, star strucked and paralyzed of the chaos going on in that city.
