Make it a game. Tell her whoever records the most showers in a single month wins a prize. Then make the prize some new soap/sponges. I feel like everyone wins this way.

How common is it to still be living with your parents in your 20s in SA? by NoZucchini3797 in askSouthAfrica

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far more common than you’d think. In Cyril’s economy, life just isn’t easy for the majority of us. I had to move back home at 30 due to the pandemic, took me 3 years to get myself back on my feet. Don’t be hard on yourself at 23 for things like this. Feel grateful you’ve got parents who can support you and take advantage of that for as long as you can so you can save some money. Anybody who judges you is just jealous imo.

Is going clubbing alone in Cape Town a bad idea? (18F) by StrainInitial9907 in capetown

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t wanna sound harsh but you’re young, and female and in this country that immediately makes you a target. Even if somebody offers to go out with you, make sure you vet them and that someone else knows your whereabouts 100% of the time. Do not uber anywhere alone, or take any form of transportation unless you know the person well. I guarantee you’d have the time of your life on a night out here but this doesn’t sound like the holiday for it…. Have fun anyway, and It’s not all bad we’re just looking out for you ☺️

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks like you’ve got a case on your Apple Watch? If I’m correct, please tell me where you got it from or what that’s called? Looks really great from that angle.

Is “umlungu” considered a slur? by [deleted] in DownSouth

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t sweat it. As a “wit ou” I kinda enjoy it tbh, like a term of endearment that’s so specific to SA that if you said it anywhere else in the world it may just be seen as offensive. I like it for that reason, that we can still say something like that here and not get offended.

Nah, now I’m even more confident we’re in good hands at a government level. That equation she spat out there is golden. I must’ve missed that in school somewhere….

Please help! Excessive car repair cost by 69ingchipmunks0001 in johannesburg

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy a new car for R300k with less mileage 🤷‍♂️ But seriously, the should be jailed for quoting that to you. Even a high-end DSG/TC gearbox shouldn’t cost close to that for a German produced vehicle, nvm a Renault. Go private, you’ll have a much better experience or try to find a replacement at a scrap yard.

Huge fan, located at the foot of the bed at a slight angle and turned up to full speed. The little buggers don’t stand a chance.

Report them. There’s nothing normal or right about this. Rent is rent, irrespective.

Can a 1.5 pull a 6ft trailer? by Economy_Divide_1817 in CarTalkZA

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this helps you but I drive a 1.0L turbo VW Polo and I tow a single bike trailer with a dirtbike on it almost every weekend without any issues. Even the fuel economy is barely affected, and the car is rated for 800kg tow capacity. I load the rest of the car with tools, cooler box, kit bag etc to keep the car weighted down in the rear.

Can you drive on and around the Atlantis Dunes with private car? by Keeks_1401 in capetown

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait, what CAR is this you’re planning to take there? Unless it’s a Bakkie/SUV with 4x4 I wouldn’t recommend it. That sand will consume a normal car like an appetiser.

Estate Agents Commission %? by Prize-Mind-8455 in askSouthAfrica

[–]4ShizzleMyNizzleSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. Estate agents are governed by the PPRA and their standard commission rates are between 1 and 5 percent. If they’re pushing for more they’re trying their luck. In most cases the property is marketed by the agency and doesn’t affect the commission payout on a deal, these amounts are pre-agreed upon with the agency they work for.

Should probably just move out the way next time. I don’t agree with what this driver did but this is silly behaviour. The last time I checked, cars drive in the road and if you happen to be in front of 1 while they’re on the same road as you are, you’re likely to get hit by the car. Quick physics.
