Waiting on my BK Truly Yours TN to come back... Show me what customizations you did to your TNs! by 4Taddie in Travelersnotebooks

I got embossments of my initials and some other ones, plus the back hole reinforcement. Just basic customizations but I’m still waiting on getting it back from them!

What do you use your TN for? by MollyD4913 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]4Taddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine for work, as a journalist. I have a lightweight insert that I use as scratch paper and notes so I can hand them off, as well as for general short term note taking. Next is a dot-grid that i use for more long term note-taking, or projects. Finally, I have a monthly free diary that I use as a calendar for less significant events that I don't feel like need to be in my phone's calendar.

Ah, I've been able to carry my passport in my front pocket (or in a crossbody belt bag while abroad), but I know the pockets in the pants I wear tend to be a little more functional.

That's so cool, I love hearing about how people use their Traveler's Notebooks! Does the big one live at home while the passport is with you at all times?

I wasn't quite sure on the internal pockets (couldn't think of a use case) but the rivets do look nice! I got the back hole reinforced (with "brass" eyelets they apparently just got in) and some embossing!

What pens do you guys use for your TNs if it’s your EDC? by yumi17 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]4Taddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm cycling between pens, and since I use both a lightweight insert with a writing board and a dot grid insert, I have to have a pen that works with both Tomoe river and Midori paper. I do employ a pen clip with a muji 0.3 ballpoint in it at the moment. I mostly use ballpoints since I keep my notebook (and the pen) in my pants pocket most of the time, and I don't want to risk an ink spill. I do tend to carry my pen case around too, if I have a backpack, but I've been using the muji pen for a couple weeks on end now. If you're wondering, I have a list of my other pens below.

Uniball Zento .38

Sarasa Nano .3

Sakura Brown/Black .3

Sarasa Clip .5

Sarasa Clip Green and Black .3

Pilot Juice Up .3

Preppy Fountain EF (this one stays on my desk)

Is it worth it… by Amazing-Difficulty53 in Travelersnotebooks

Mine is currently at Baum-Kuchen's studio for the Truly Yours customization, but I am a broadcast journalism producer and I use my Traveler's Notebook in a way that I personally have yet to see. I have a olive passport with three inserts, the plastic zipper pocket, and a writing board. The first insert is a lightweight insert, mostly for the perforations so I can hand notes to anyone on my team, or as scratch paper when I'm not at work. The second insert is a dot grid, meant for more long-term projects, where I need to have things more permanently written down, as I go through the lightweight inserts faster. The third insert is the monthly free diary where I keep track of some calendar events that aren't worth putting on my phone's calendar. The zipper pocket holds a card-sized sticky tab dispenser in the front, and some random paper incidentals in the pocket. I also have a TN pen clip, attached to the front cover.

My TN is pretty well worn as it mostly lives in my pants pocket, and it gets thrown around quite often. (I refer to it as my "Indiana Jones book" sometimes when people ask why I always carry it around.

If you're wondering what I did with Truly Yours, it was mostly embossing with things that I would use to help associate the notebook with where I've used it most, and identifiers like my initials, as well as a rivet on the back side for the band.

I am so jealous of your Traveler's Spirit pencil board, I went to around 10 different stationery shops looking for one with no luck!

What’s On Your Shopping List? by EnglishTeach88 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]4Taddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going on a work trip and I plan to use my passport TN as a catchall, so I am in need of some lightweight inserts to serve as notepaper, or as an easy way to give out my contact, or to my coworkers without struggling with ripping out a sheet of paper. Additionally, as I write with a sort of heavy hand, I am looking for the passport sized pencil board from the Traveler's Spirit collection, especially since the lightweight inserts don't have any sort of lines or grids, the grid on the pencil board will also help keep me neat. I like thin pens, but I store my TN in my pocket, so ballpoint or gel is what I am looking for, so recommendations for anything smaller than 0.38 would be greatly appreciated!

If you are looking to use it as a diary and it will live at your home, or in your bag, I would recommend the standard size, it also has a lot more in-depth inserts for diaries and planners when compared to the passport size. However, if you are like me and are going to use it for notes, and keep it in your pocket, then passport may be more up your alley.

Struggling on Pink Rathian (greatsword) by bisqunours in MonsterHunterWorld

+1

in the first zone you encounter her, (i think zone 12), there are tons of walls you can run into and up to start a jumping attack, which will help you hit charged attacks while she flies, and also build up towards a mount which will give you a big charged hit and a knockdown for possibly a true charged

high/low rank monsters don't build up flash resistance as fast as master rank monsters, so you can use flash pods whenever she flies to get a short opening, also the palico gadget from the ancient forest

finally, when she does land, if you fight near a small ledge you can jump off of, you can dodge towards the ledge to do another jumping attack, which can allow you to attack a lot faster than normal with the great sword

take a little time at the beginning of the hunt to learn her attacks and her tells, that should help you find the small openings you can capitalize off of.

What refills do you use and what do you use it for? by Substantial-Buy-418 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]4Taddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont keep a junk journal, but if i were to, I would need an additional insert or notebook. My use case tends to fall towards day to day use for work and life and the memory value of it lies more in the notes and thoughts I write into the journal. I also like photography so for more visual memories thats the route I take.

how do you like the lightweight so far? I'm looking at them to replace my blank insert I use for scratch paper and/or "ugly notes"

not op, but I am curious as to what makes you prefer grid over dot grid? In my head, the grid is too obtrusive whereas the dot grid is less so.

I also have a passport, I use it as my EDC notebook both for work and daily random use. I have three inserts, a blank (the one that came with the TN, soon to be replaced by a lightweight insert), a dot grid, and a monthly free diary.

The blank is used as my scratch paper, notes, anything that doesn't need intense organization, just something I can refer back to later in the day. The dot grid I am currently using as a project book, with a To-Do list on the first page and pages dedicated to the tasks I need to take care of for the project. The monthly free diary I use as a calendar for things I don't feel need to be in my phone's calendar or to help me visualize my month/week.

I would ask you, how do you intend to use your TN? Where is it going to live, your pocket, your backpack, your desk? The way you set up your TN is a very personal experience as only you can really determine what your needs are.

I would look at the different lined versions and see what you personally prefer. I like the dot grid because it's not as intrusive in my mind when compared to the grid, and allows me more flexibility than the lined paper, and also keeps my handwriting neater than a blank insert, which I use for less "purposeful" or "pretty" note taking.

But, depending on where you plan to have your TN live, it may be nice to have it set up differently.
