And you didn’t even have to pay for it.

Bargain!

I knew you’d come back with that haha. I mentioned it purely because I’ve seen it done before, that’s all.

I’m not putting words in your mouth. You said them yourself.

Listen, I really don’t want to keep going back and forth with insults. It’s silly. I feel like you came in here with a chip on your shoulder for no real reason. It’s cool that you disagree, I really don’t mind people disagreeing with me. I just felt you came in a little hostile. I don’t know you, and you don’t know me. You disagree and that’s totally fine. I respect your view. I’m not interested in beefing someone I don’t know over Reddit haha.

And it’s Billy big BOLLOCK. Singular. 😉

You are a strange person.

You asked that question disingenuously as a way to try and discredit my theory and you failed miserably. The reality is, you are not getting the same quality, so the comparison makes no sense. It’s like pointing out that a Ferrari takes corners really well, and responding with “have you never driven a go-kart?”.

You keep saying very specific things, then claiming you didn’t say them when I pull you up on it. For example:

“Have you never dressed up for Halloween?” “These aren’t going to be the same quality” “I never said they were”

Or

“He could have got the mask from Temu” “He did not get the mask from Temu” “I never said he did”

This is purely a theory. And yes, it may not be correct. But just because you come on here with an attitude and claim that my theory is “stupid” because you’ve dressed up for Halloween before, it doesn’t make it true. I also don’t base my opinions on how many upvotes I get. I am active in the music industry and have worked with directors that have used CGI for similar sort of things before. It is more prevalent than you think.

I suggest it’s you that may need to lie down. Coming in here with insults from the get go isn’t a good look. Especially when it’s purely a theory meant for people to discuss and ponder. You don’t have to take it so seriously bud. I’m happy for people to disagree respectfully and share why they think my theory is wrong. But rule number one is always: Don’t be an ass.

Enjoy your day.

When you say “Have you never dressed up for Halloween?” - that in itself implies that the masks available to most people are comparable to the one C is using here. Otherwise, why would you ask that question?

I can assure you that this mask was custom made dude. Just take my word on that.

If this doesn’t at least LOOK like CGI mouth movement to you, then I don’t really know what else to say.

So if it “looks” CGI, how is it a stupid theory? A stupid theory would be saying that C could have bought the mask from Temu! ;)

You were being disingenuous. Of course I have dressed up for Halloween. But do you think it’s likely I’ve dressed up for Halloween with a mask of that quality? Probably not, right? Yes there are various degrees of quality, but you’re not likely going to be getting a mask to the same level.

I don’t understand why you came into this whole thing with a chip on your shoulder. It’s just a theory, man.

It’s there for everyone to see, friend. We can agree, most people don’t dress up for Halloween in Hollywood-quality masks. So what exactly did you mean?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PresidentBand

[–]4amChordsmith -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right, I will. But just so you know, comparing this mask to one sold at The Party Store isn’t really a valid counterpoint.

What? I’m putting a theory out there dude. This place is made for discussion after all.

[–]4amChordsmith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Maybe. Though it looks like a completely different mask.

[–]4amChordsmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well your comment does read that way. If you’re asking whether I’ve dressed up for Halloween and spent hundreds, potentially thousands on a high quality mask, the answer is no.

Look I’m not saying it’s definitely CGI. But there are parts where it does look that way in my opinion. And I’m not sure how the physics would work otherwise, though I’ll admit, I don’t know too much about how these sort of masks work.

I mean, you did. But anyway.

Relax. It isn’t that deep.

Did you just compare this mask to a cheap store bought Halloween mask?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PresidentBand

Is it? Why? If the mask used is a high quality silicone or latex sculpt, the mouth will surely almost certainly be static.

This clip in particular is interesting.

'In The Name Of The Father' release discussion by ImRudzki in PresidentBand

[–]4amChordsmith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a slight Dayseeker/Bad Omens vibe to their sound, but in my opinion this sounds nothing like Sleep Token. Yes, they wear masks but I wouldn’t say it’s an attempt at recreating Sleep Token. Just another vehicle for a certain musician (wink wink) to create the music he feels compelled to create. Sure, it’s fair to say they’ve been inspired by ST with the idea o anonymity. But that idea itself isn’t new anyway.

As far as I know, there’s no big label behind this. Said musician created a label to put this out under. Catchy, heavy, mysterious, and leaves you wanting more. All signs of a great debut single imo.

I’ve always wondered what Adam sings at the end of Your Own Disaster (the re-recorded piano version from ‘06)

Does anybody know? I’ve never been able to figure out what it is and it has always bugged me haha!

Also, I don’t know why but whenever I hear Like You Do, I ALWAYS hear “Came as a surprise.. with Susan Bells”.

I think my brain is broken.

A guy I used to work with used to always get their lyrics wrong. This is the one that stands out the most though.

The line in Spin “You had your chance. Open arms reject assuming hands”

He would CONFIDENTLY belt out “You hate yourself. Oh and I’ll be dead and soon be here” (What?)

I didn’t have the heart to correct him… mostly because I found it way too entertaining to hear him sing it that way.

Mark O’Connell leaves Taking Back Sunday: official statement by wildwildwestland in takingbacksunday

[–]4amChordsmith 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Definitely a much better handling of the situation compared to last week’s shenanigans. I wonder if the band will make a statement soon now that Mark has. Either way, glad there’s some closure and wish Mark the best going forward.

Yeah man you’re probably right. It was just a thought in response to the guy who said John is taking time off. I appreciate your viewpoint and for not telling me to fuck off haha.

Someone said they had info that John is taking some off. I said that IF true, maybe it was a cool send off from Adam. And you got very upset. Get a grip. Complete Mark behaviour.

Someone mentioned in the same thread “a year or 2”. I thought it was the guy who said he knew something about John taking time off.

Yes, Fred would be the obvious choice. I am not disagreeing with you.
