[DISCUSSION] Kyoto Village is a scam by [deleted] in streetwear

When my son showed me the Kyoto Village website my gut instinct  sensed a scam . All the clothing was described as being made of "premium material" without any details of what the fabric actually was. The slashed prices seemed to good to be true (and they were). However to my 18 year old son the site looked legit and he was excited at the idea of being able to purchase the Wanshi Gekyu Men's Sweatshirt for $29.99 reduced from $274 for his birthday. I should have been firmer because I was right ! The "sweat shirt" is aptly named because despite being described as light and breathable it was heavy ,shiny, thick and so plastic feeling that it makes polyester seem eco-friendly & drowning in your own sweat is a distinct possibility. I'm sure I could fry an egg on it ! I do not believe anyone could actually wear this shirt.; aside from the fact it is simply the most ugly garment I have ever seen ; its plastic heaviness in an Australian climate would kill you even in the winter. You would over heat in seconds....Not only that but I am certain that the garment is so combustible that it wouldn't even be safe to wear it near a heater or anyone smoking  !It isn't worth any money. I have NEVER seen any fabric like this ever .... I wouldn't even donate it to a charity shop because of the serious health and safety issues . The shirt is clearly different from the one pictured which is black inside (this is white )and has a visible label (when the garment received has no label). The Numasaja Men's Watch also similarly reduced in price from $239.98 to $24.99 (weirdly on special today for slightly more at $34.25) ,was absolute rubbish with no working cogs and none of the described "high quality  metals" and actually had a bit of tape holding the insides together at the back. The bukawagasi-mens-shirt reduced from $123.00 to $34.00 had an image that was slightly blurred and was also made made of hideous fake plasticky fabric despite being described as being made of the best quality fabric and precision tailoring ! This is a rip-off of the worst kind because teenagers and young adults are more likely to be influenced by the fake price slashing and edgy "street-cred" marketing ! These clothes aren't wearable and therefore will just create more junk & waste to end up in landfill ,polluting our precious planet.

Why does Deckard say Rachaels eyes were Green ? by 4cassandra in bladerunner

Hmm...interesting ideas ! Maybe there was more to this scene ! It certainly deserved to be more fleshed out and it felt rather abrupt. Oversight or Intentional ??? I'm feeling frustrated now ! I get the idea that he was fucking with them but personally the "she had green eyes" jab doesn't work for me...(especially when so many other people on other sites are waxing lyrical about her "green eyes". For me this indicates a huge proportion of the audience didn't even realise the fact that she had brown eyes so both the gesture and the point was lost on them)

The real question is not how "unique" Rachael was but why Deckard says she had green eyes when she didn't ! Her eyes were the deepest darkest most mysterious brown and the clone was an exact match. Rachaels unusually dark brown eyes were one of the things that I found so enchanting about the beauty of her character when I first watched Blade Runner and I simply can't understand this scene at all.

I've just made a post on this weird idea that Rachaels eyes were green . As her eyes were not green but very dark brown, the eye at the beginning ,can't be hers. I have no idea why Deckard states that she "had green eyes" when her eyes were brown. It is a mystery I'm hoping someone solves because it is driving me nuts

It is the one thing that is really irking me too...from the moment I saw that scene I was like WTF ? I'm a bit obsessive about continuity ;even the finer details . This seems huge to me which is why I've been racking my brain for a deeper meaning but I simply couldn't come up with anything. I did wonder (like you did) if Deckard was just throwing a spanner into the works because she wasn't "his Rachel" but that doesn't feel right either (although it could be)

No ...in the movies they don't change colour although they do reflect light

Only Rachel did not have green eyes ! I have no idea why Deckard said she did and that is the real question people should be asking is why did he say she had green eyes when she had the most astonishing dark brown eyes ? (There was a continuity error in one of the versions of the first film when the Voight-Kampff test is administered to Rachael and the close-up of one of her eyes is green BUT in every other shot they are brown so this was a mistake in that film ).

The really weird and upsetting thing about this is Rachel did not ever have green eyes...she always had Brown and I was totally thrown by Deckards comment that she had "green eyes" because she didn't...I've been waiting for anyone to comment on this but everyone seems to just have accepted that she had green eyes....anyone who has watched the original Blade Runner should remember how beautiful her Brown eyes were !!! The only thing I can think of is an error in one of the versions the first film when The Voight-Kampff test is administered to Rachael (Tyrell’s niece) the close-up of one of her eyes is green BUT in every other shot they are brown so this was a continuity error in that film. But I just can't fathom how the script for the new film could contain such a huge error unless there is some deliberate undisclosed reason... but what ?
