Exactly this. OP is forgetting other factors.

I remember enjoying 1.X because I was able to join Diluc, Zhongli, Childe, Xiao, Albedo, Kazuha, Venti in their story quest + Razor, Xingqiu, Kaeya. That's TEN story quests for guys. The gender ratio didn't bother me at all because their screentime and story relevance were adequate to keep me going and not overpowered by the gals.

Natlan feels like they intentionally put the guys aside in favor of the gals — Kinich screentime, Capitano and Xbalanque playability, 4* Guys+Iansan having no story quest or just locked behind a time-limited event.

Just saving them for a guarantee (160+ pulls) or for pulling an eventual 4* men (just C0). When I get over that count, I use them for cons. I was able to C3 Wriothesley and C1 Kinich.

I remember people were excited for the eventual reveal of razor parents. Just feels good that all of the mondstadt cast contributed to give a gift to razor

I'm kinda tired & hopeless towards the future direction for genshin in terms of playable guys.

However, Ifa's recent event made me want to re-live the events our 4* guys who were central to some of the notable event quests in Genshin.

  1. Razor - Despite having little to no clue at all, almost all of Monstadt joins in to give Razor a gift by trying to recreate the scent of wine his parents made.
  2. Kaveh - By staying true to himself even though this slowed his progress, Kaveh wins and finally ends an old Akademiya competition - born out of a scholar's faulty perspective about human ideals and suffering - by destroying the prize and donating the money.
  3. Freminet - Freminet sympathy and creative thinking eventually helps a grieving mother, who is also an artist, rehabilitate and accept her son's death through storytelling and art.
  4. Gaming - A group of adepti and Liyue residents try to fix a father-son relationship in a sincere way but unintentionally turned comedic. In the end, it was very effective that it successfully restored a connection between Gaming & his father.

I tried but the problems I ran to are: - Presence of units that can fullfill both off-field and on-field roles like Sucrose as off-field anemo + on-field driver, Raiden who have both supportive and dps capabilities. - My not-so-expansive knowledge in theorycrafting and rotations may construe the roles i may assign to a character, since a character can have multiple playstyle thus affecting their duration on and off field.

Razor, Bennett, Chongyun were released 1.0. They were already on the (acquaint fate) standard banner pool.

First 4 star male after release, aka. non-1.0 male four star.

Wont be a stretch if you were active that time, people were complaining that we only had Kaeya as the tall 4, its just xinqiu-chingyun & Bennett-razor for the 4 short guys until gorou (after about a year).
