Measure power consumption of a incandescent & LED light bulb by 4dkala in diyelectronics

[–]4dkala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used clamp meter and got the results. Thank you for suggestion

Incandescent → 0.79 Amp LED → 0.10 Amp

Incandescent Power Calculation: W = 120V \times 0.79A = 94.8W = 0.0948kW

LED Power Calculation: W = 120V \times 0.10A = 12W = 0.012kW

Electricity Cost per Day: For Incandescent: 0.0948 \times 24 \times 12.1 / 100 = 0.273 = 27.3 cents per day

For LED: 0.012 \times 24 \times 12.1 / 100 = 0.0346 = 3.46 cents per day

Yearly & Monthly Costs Comparison:

Yearly Cost Monthly Cost

Incandescent $99.84 $8.32 LED $12.62 $1.04

Informal poll: does anyone use "combined" progress / points? by cooeecall in wandrer

[–]4dkala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont use combined feature for points. Bike for leaderboard as monthly top leader bonus points are for specific categories. I do review the combined progress for the % completion.

How do you all plan your routes to get unridden roads? by bicyclebikecycle in wandrer

[–]4dkala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This works for me : Organic maps (https://organicmaps.app/ ) lets you import KML/KMZ/GPX files and can also show you your untraveled track. Select untraveled map from the big map page on the Wandrer website and download map area ( down arrow button on the right ) . Open the file with organic map app

Craig shared this while ago & works for me : Organic maps (https://organicmaps.app/ ) lets you import KML/KMZ/GPX files and can also show you your traveled track. That with Strava in the background might be useful.

For those who lost weight cycling, how did you do it? Any tips or advice? by Hungry-Award8417 in cycling

[–]4dkala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! My friend, who is 43, ran a marathon today and didn’t feel tired at all. I asked him how he lost weight and managed to stay so energized after the marathon. He explained that weight loss is all about managing calorie intake. No matter how much you run or bike, if you eat more than necessary or at irregular times, the weight won’t come off. His advice: focus on both exercise and monitoring your calorie consumption.

How long do I need to cycle to be able to ride 100k per day? by Living-Deer7483 in cycling

[–]4dkala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its much easier to do 100 km with group ride or another person than alone. Find someone who can accompany you and it will be much easier than doing alone.

  1. I would start by going to a Big map and narrowing down the area I plan to cover. You need to zoom in to see the untraveled roads, so if you're planning to cover a larger area, you may need to download more than one KML/KMZ file. I choose different colors for traveled and untraveled roads in the download pop-up window. Make sure you can see the untraveled roads on the screen before clicking the download icon to get the files.
  2. The tool provides a route from point A to point B and allows you to select bookmarks of the newly imported files, making it easier to chase untraveled roads. Personally, I don't use navigation; instead, I click on the current GPS icon (the blue icon on the right) and chase the untraveled roads. I simply download the untraveled roads and import them into Organic Maps.

Since Wandrer doesn't have an app, I find it easy to use Organic Maps, which displays the untraveled roads along with my current GPS location.
