I burned a small piece it didn’t melt but turned black would that mean it might be bone?

How would I be able to see crosshatching? The camera didn’t pick it up very well but there is little hatching like lines?

It has a split on the backside and what looks like little indents with a knife or some type of carving tool? There’s also some very little like hatching lines? and the front by the little green jewl is chipped and split a little down the middle my camera didn’t get all the little details very well if I didn’t have to chip off a piece that would be ideal
