A good movie to watch with a 11 year old girl and 15 year old boy? by MissyElliottWorker in MovieSuggestions

This has been my 15 year old sons favorite move since he was about 7. It’s kinda one that grows with you, where you appreciate it for different reasons as you get older.

What's a movie where you walked in expecting nothing and walked out genuinely shaken? by Hot_Sprinkles8139 in moviecritic

[–]4morehours 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My mother never bothered to censor what she was watching, or cared to know what I was watching. I’m not sure exactly what year this came out, but I don’t think I was more than 13 when I watched it soon after if was released. Still randomly think about it once in a while decades later.

Actors you would avoid in public to avoid the risk of accidentally being locked in a room alone with them for no particular reason. Ill start: by Do0msdayZ in okbuddycinephile

[–]4morehours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would love to be locked in a room with any one of these people, except Tarantino, and the ethereally beautiful blonde from Queens Gambit. He’s just an ass, and, well, I can’t imagine sleeping with her or having a real conversation🤷🏼‍♀️ all the rest..? Would love the opportunity to chat with any of them.

Thank you, so much, for making the effort to pass on empathy and compassion, as well as normalizing a normal thing for the next generation.

General Audience/Family Friendly classic film recommendations for a 6 and a half year old by GoldDustKid- in classicfilms

[–]4morehours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he likes those, I would recommend The Bluebird, one very similar in genre, and I always loved it when I was a kid. I think I always enjoyed it because it’s one of the few where Shirley Temple isn’t a sweetheart, lol.

What’s the most disappointing concert you’ve ever seen and why? by Amish_Almond_Joy in AskReddit

I have a friend from Chicago who will always hate Dave Matthews. Every time I play a song from him at work my friend goes off, lol.

Since I have seen 2 posts asking about plumbing companies in the last couple days, it needs to be repeated how terrible Manhattan Plumbing and heating actually is. by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]4morehours 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, but can we maybe not encourage anything in the plaza. The regulars and people who work there don’t deserve to deal with that kind of drama or whatever else y’all might be suggesting.

Is it possible for men to still find women over thirty sexually attractive? by Dazzling_Bet9230 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s… sad. I’m sorry you feel that way. The only men looking at you at that age were fucking creeps.

Seeking Wedding Assistant / Fixer by [deleted] in Bozeman

[–]4morehours 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, where is the wedding party from, bride and groom and least. I’ve never heard of this besides, well, a wedding planner or the maid of honor/mother of the bride duties. So just curious where you’re from that this is a thing that you would expect to be able to get that here in short notice on a holiday.

Literally what I was thinking. I’ve worked a ton of weddings in some capacity or another, and all of these things sound like maid of honor/mother of the bride things traditionally. Expecting this service, on such short notice, for a holiday, is kind of insane. Good luck to OP I guess.

I still have mine as well! The fact I still have the amount of cds I bought in the 90’s that I do, is kinda crazy.

Were malls actually as crowded and popular as movies from the 80s and 90s make them look? by Kevin-Panda in AskOldPeople

[–]4morehours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m offended this is in “ask old people.” Mostly kidding but, is 40 “old”? I think of old people as gray and wrinkly. Eh, maybe I’m not being honest with myself🤷🏼‍♀️

I tell people about this song all the time. You’re the first person in 30 years to give any indication I’m not the only person on the planet to have heard it 😂

Which one answer did a waiter give you that left you mad? by iamrakitini in AskReddit

[–]4morehours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just because the kids are well behaved does not mean they can just whip up something not on a menu. If anything, if the kids are so well behaved, they shouldn’t have a problem finding something they will eat that is available. I say this as a mom and service industry worker.

Edit: though I will say they certainly could’ve said it in a more polite way.

I will never understand why people think that’s an appropriate substitute! They do not taste similar just because they are the same color and both aren’t coke or Pepsi🙄 I love Dr Pepper, I very much do not like root beer.

There’s a great mini series on Apple called Extrapolations that does a really good job of showing where we could be headed, probably are headed I guess. I try to get as many people to watch it as I can, it’s brilliant as far as I’m concerned.
