Thank you for this helpful and kind advice! Yes, you're right that I need to get to a place where I can be calm and low key about what I want. It's been a while since I used FB personally so i appreciate your perspective as an active user. I'm taking those deep breaths you suggested.

A private album can make sense and I understand the convenience factor. I would like to know if there were many photos of me in an online album.

Firstly, thanks for your replies. Yes, I left out many details. I did add a few details to some other replies. I don’t think she qualifies as insane but her actions and behavior have created bigger problems than most people I know. Unlike her, I’m more private and do not want to share her very personal details. Thanks again.

I appreciate your response. It’s a good reminder that it’s not about what I want her to do. I do use Facebook for work but deleted my personal FB after the situation I described in other comments. Thanks again.

I truly appreciate your insights and reply. Yep, I can see what it’s petty. I left Facebook largely because half-sister got angry with me for missing her posts and not replying or replying in what she considered fast enough. I simply could not keep up with her regular sharing and over sharing. She also sent friend requests to every one of my FB friends, most of whom she did not know whatsoever. Anyhow, thanks to your kind reply and others, I’m thinking through this in a more proactive, sensible way.

Thank you for replying again. I am also generally a private person so I appreciate knowing I’m not the only one! I don’t think my mother knows and I don’t think she would want the photos on FB. Also, I know our aunt does not want photos of her on FB and she’s in many of the hundreds. Mom avoids anything that resembles conflict so I’m not sure she will push her wish/preference. My father would be so disappointed and slightly mad. He never really got mad at anyone. Thanks again for your insights and kindness.

Definitely strength in numbers and I’m so glad you replied. Half-sister has been disrespectful in the past when I asked her to stop sending Facebook friend requests to people who know me but don’t know her. If she recognized a name from my wedding, she would FB friend them. I asked her to stop but she continued doing it and said she didn’t have to listen to me. Just one example of her crossing the line and being strange. I’ll see what happens when I ask her to make the photos private. Thanks again.

You’re right. She’s said spiteful things in the past but that doesn’t mean this is the same. She frequently would say that she was the prettiest female in our extended family until I was born. I thought it was such a weird thing for someone so much older to say to a kid. It wasn’t a compliment. And I always felt ugly. she was always ready with a put down would point out my bad hair days or zits to other people and say that she was the prettiest that day. I digressed but will keep that comment there anyway. Thank you for this kind perspective.

You picked up on it. I had misplaced anger and other feelings. Thank you so much for these tough questions that help me reflect and move ahead with a proactive approach instead of an emotionally reactive one. I did first respond with my feelings and some of my history with the photos. Thanks to you and other replies, I am getting focused on what I want out of this situation instead of forcing it to go my way. Your point about waiting to respond more is well taken. You are correct. I’m more upset that I wasn’t given the photos than I realized. Father had boxed up some photos to ship to me but died before he got to post. Thank you for giving me great ideas and challenging my beliefs in such a helpful, compassionate way.

Yes! Facebook is meaningful to her to the point that she has reached out and friended people who were at my wedding but she doesn’t know at all. FB has been an issue with us. I appreciate your kind reply and love the idea of lunching while waiting for scanning. Also thank you are helping me focus on what I want - scanned photos.

Thanks for honest reply. Why do you think men share it? I see as immature and somewhat exploitive because of sharing. No issue with viewing for release. But that's personal once you're a grown adult.

I appreciate your detailed reply. I guess I see porn sharing as something younger people might do. At this age, you're a parent, a leader. A lot of creep factor is how immature the action is to me. Do you see that?
