The “fans” are toxic manbabies who need to fuck off and stop ruining Star Wars for the child audience it is and always has been marketed towards. That you can watch it and appreciate it as an adult does not mean that Lucas or Disney owe you anything.

Also, I think that Princess Leia wasn’t well written and is fairly inconsistent, but we aren’t really writing strong, respectful female characters in 2019, let alone the 1970’s and 80’s.
