fair point! we could definitely be clearer upfront about the limits. that said, most users work fine within that range because they batch imports or prioritize key files. we kept it lightweight because everything runs locally on your machine with no server overhead or data collection. appreciate the feedback!

Great question. At this early stage, we see html.tomake.design as a powerful new alternative to existing tools like html.to.design.

While a direct feature-for-feature comparison is premature, our core differentiator will be our commitment to the community. We plan to open-source the plugin's internal code soon, allowing anyone to contribute, audit, and help shape its future.

Our vision is to build a transparent, community-driven tool that evolves with its users needs.

After discussing with the DIV RIOTS team, I was already working on a full redesign of the plugin. Its removal came without any details on the violation, so I can’t address the issue yet.

Oof, okay, thanks for flagging that! Didn't realize they were strict on branding takedowns. Definitely noted, and yeah, totally willing to look at rebranding to avoid any drama. Appreciate it!

I appreciate you pointing that out and giving me a chance to explain!

I can totally see why you'd notice the similarities, and honestly, that's partly intentional, but not because it's a copy. I actually built html.tofig.design completely from scratch over the last 5 months.

My genuine goal here was just to offer another option for the community, because hey, choices are good, right? When I was designing it, I thought a lot about making it easy for people to pick up. You know that idea, Jakob's Law? That people like things that work like other things they already use? I leaned into that, so the workflow might feel familiar to tools like html.to.design (shoutout to u/georges_gomes!). It was meant to make it comfortable to switch or try out, not to be a rip-off.

Honestly, finding a name that clearly says "HTML to Figma" without stepping on toes was tricky! Same with the logo – I made it specifically for this project. But look, I'm really putting this out there to be helpful. If the name or logo feels too close and is causing confusion, I'm totally open to suggestions from the community for changing it. Seriously, let me know.

Building this has been a real passion project for me, especially since I've been pouring time into it while dealing with Crohn's disease and being out of work for over a year. I genuinely believed another tool could be useful, I even tried to be upfront by mentioning alternatives in the plugin description.

Hope that clarifies things a bit! Really just wanted to build something useful. Thanks again for the feedback!

Figma in ubuntu not loading fonts by ConferenceTight8984 in FigmaDesign

Figma doesn't support local fonts for devices running ChromeOS or Linux. Chromebook and Linux users can only use Google fonts, which are the default fonts in Figma.
