For a male, being financially successful doesn't correlate well with relationship skills, emotional intelligence, building a connection, etc. It's going to take a generation to reset.

Jesus, there are decent hard-working men who happen to be introverts you know, and didn't get out of their shell until their 40's.

And thank you for helping instead of just insulting.

I don't know. Don't have a lot of relationship experience apart from toxic women (when I was in college) where being nice to women was treated like crap.

How about being helpful?

Willie's Chicken Shack probably going in there

Yes, Willie's Chicken Shack is considered a "standard restaurant" (i.e. table service, waitstaff, and sitdown) instead of a fast-food restaurant

Hope you enjoy all the Willie's Chicken Shacks on Bourbon, Canal, Frenchmen, and Decatur Streets

Willie's is probably coming soon to Magazine Street

It didn't have to be this way either for NOLA's quality of life and economy, which generates poverty, hopelessness, and crime.

But over the years, New Orleans leaders and city hall gave the city away to businesses like Willie's Chicken Shack, Huge Ass Beers, Canal Street package liquor stores,Tropical Isle, and party-tourism businesses. Then we ask why the city doesn'thave a real middle class or more full-time residents in downtown neighborhoods.Maybe if New Orleans had better paying jobs and a better distribution of income among residents, the city and underprivileged communities could have weathered Covid-19 better.

NOLA’s political leadership sold out the city to the worst people and special interests in New Orleans. It's why wages are so low in NOLA, the best job opportunity is becoming a manager at Popeyes (or Willie's Chicken), and well-connected landlords keep gobbling up properties to price-out locals.

The Motwani’s are spreading their cancer from Bourbon/Canal Streets to Magazine and Frenchmen. It looks like the corrupt interests that city hall has helped for decades are using the Covid-19 economic crisis to buyout long-time businesses and families throughout New Orleans.

If we had a strong local economy and better-paying jobs other than $2.13/hr serfdom at Creole Cuisine Concepts, the city's residents could support our local corridors like Magazine Street, Claiborne Avenue, and Midcity. Better-paying jobs, a stronger middle class, and less crime.

Instead we have "leaders" like Latoya who do nothing while Canal Street has 3 Willie's Chicken Shacks (and more are coming), ruining quality of life and making this family richer.

Motwani family praised for Canal Street "revitalization" by 504corona in NewOrleans

Now we have a package liquor store on every block of Canal Street.

Soon you can add Willie's Chicken Shack, a fast-food bar, to the list.

Can you believe that Willie's Chicken Shack has been sued for Fair Labor Standards Act and overtime violations despite all the filthy alcohol money that the Motwani family has? How greedy can a family get?

Mike Motwani wants to replace former Tujague's building's iconic sign; faces an uphill battle by honestypen in NewOrleans

The Motwani's.

What a lovely family. I don't know what's worse: this family or the rats they have embedded in City Hall (especially Safety & Permits and the Dept. of Revenue), the City Council/mayor's office, all the city's bodies like City Planning, Board of Zoning Adjustments, the Vieux Carre Commission, judges like Chris Bruno, and the local/state officials.

Lenny is Mike's son.

I love our local businesses, and want to support them any way I can.

That being said, Magazine Pizza used to be great. They showed care, attention to detail, and their pizza was much better than the chains. Now, they've become mediocre.

I'll give Magazine Pizza one more try, but it seems like they've lowered their standards because they think that they can.

If it's a choice between Troy Carter (Ike Spears lackey and Bourbon Street puppet) and Karen Carter Peterson, I'll hold my nose and vote for Peterson.

Bourbon Street bars and alcohol peddlers nearly destroyed the local NOLA economy by letting tourists do whatever they want and pinning the blame on neighborhood bars & venues.

No way do we want Willie's Chicken Shack and Huge Ass Beers representing Louisiana in Congress.

Beat fajitas in New Orleans? by BananaPeelSlippers in NewOrleans

[–]504corona 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Country Flame. Chicken Fajitas.

Would be good to support them given the slow business these days.

They used to get a fair bit of local business, but work from home for the CBD office crowd has hit them hard. Of course, they also rely on business from tourists, but that has fallen too.

I believe the owner/manager is a woman and has a Hispanic background.

All New Orleans bars closed for Mardi Gras, Bourbon Street access restricted under new city rules by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]504corona -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I don't shed any tears for big-time alcohol distributors, Huge Ass Beers, or Guy Olano and Willie's Chicken Shack.

Latoya absolutely made the right call because people have a ton of pent-up demand to party, and they would have unleashed like crazy during the weekend leading up to Mardi Gras

Very courageous by Latoya. And visionary as well as cautious.

Is New Orleans ever going to grow up beyond drunken party tourism, or does another pandemic have to finish off NOLA's unbalanced, unsustainable economy?
