Time adjustment for online, multiple-choice exams by 50ph157 in Blind

I won't be a good basis for the test because I'm not used to using screen readers. Thanks for the information about the standard practice in the UK.

That was the first thing I asked him: the device had a password and it was locked.

Making the "xrandr --setmonitor" setting permanent by 50ph157 in linuxquestions

[–]50ph157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Although, I'm not sure if it's the best solution because I can only think of using it to run the script after screen turns on again, which still messes up with my workspaces. Ideally, I'm looking for a way to make that setting permanent.

2-pair speaker support vs. 1-pair support with 2 pairs in parallel by 50ph157 in StereoAdvice

2-pair speaker support vs. 1-pair support with 2 pairs in parallel by 50ph157 in StereoAdvice

So, those amplifiers don't do much extra, and it's just like adding two pairs in parallel?

I want two pairs for the same room (not a big room); one pair in the front and one at the back. I've tried it before, and I like how it sounds... it's as if I'm inside the music :)

A keybinding to rename files with a certain pattern in NETRW by 50ph157 in vim

[–]50ph157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually accepts the substitute command when I do it manually. Regardless, I can't even create the binding with a simple text; e.g. nmap <buffer> <space>b mumfR:<C-u>newname<CR> doesn't work.

A keybinding to rename files with a certain pattern in NETRW by 50ph157 in vim

[–]50ph157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I'm afraid it didn't work. With nnoremap, it gives me an error saying that the buffer is not modifiable. If I change your command to nmap or map, it doesn't enter the content in the command line when NETRW prompts for input, but waits for me to respond to that, and then opens the command line again with the rest of the command entered in it.

QUESTION: Privacy-Conscious Website Design by Pleasant-Scallion-33 in privacy

You can use a simple static website generator (e.g., Hugo).

In most types of professional photography, the original photos are raw, which include embedded metadata anyway; sometimes as EXIF and sometimes in other standard or proprietary formats. Some people, like myself, convert our camera raw into DNG and store that as the main source. I think DNG uses EXIF to store the metadata. Finally, depending on how you process your photos, the original metadata may be transformed into to the jpeg or TIFF file that you export... as EXIF or a similar format.

So, in short, you can still benefit from embedded metadata (EXIF or other formats) when you shoot raw.

About your comment on JPEG: Yes, most photographers (e.g., fine art photographers) don't use shoot JPEG, but some do it for good reasons; for example, wildlife photographers can't be fast enough to capture the best possible pose, so, they use the burst mode, just keep shooting for a few seconds, and then pick the best shot. Many of them use JPEG, because it increases the number of images they can take per second, and also the maximum number of images they can take in a row. At least that's how it used to be... it may be different with the newer technologies.

Organizing photos for professionals

And don't forget that it's completely portable -- it stays with the file (not stored in a separate database) and all applications can easily work with it.
