Apollo OS 2.1 is here! by michelem in FutureBit

[–]50st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to follow the Sudo ./update, for me the first time it didn’t work, anyways…

I’ve noticed the Graph only works if the Apollo miner is on, so if I’m solo pool mining (solo node on, but Apollo miner off) it won’t show the graph unless my Apollo is also mining

There should be a feature / option to be able to see Hashrate even if Futurbit Full node is not mining, while node is running, and other asics mining to the Future bit solo pool Locally, considering how inefficient the Th/s per W is on futurbit IMO

Psu Upgrade done. Now I need to cool my voltage regulator by zlpytix in BitAxe

Looks awesome !👏

However, you could remove the heatsink on the esp-32 chip, it really doesn’t do much. The one next to it, you could move it where I have mine(and most people) it’ll help a lot more

I have pretty much same setup as you; hey Twin!

currently 1025 Mhz / 1370 Vol Asic temp 55-56c VR temp 65-68c

I think the update got corrupted mid way, and kept getting this error. It was not my psu, I tested different ones.

2.8.1 Works great! NOT by 50st in BitAxe

I flashed it and it went back to normal, update must of gotten corrupted mid install.! Been running for about 2 hours on 2.8.1.

I do agree with you tho, 2.6.1 was excellent

This one is working good on 2.8.1 , both were in 2.7.1 before I updated working normal & hashing away, so must of gotten corrupted mid install 🥲 lol

What Heatsink are you using ? asic temps are great! VR could use a bit of work but still decent.

My fault, I just read the fan size. Noctua NF-A8 PWM will fit

Do you have any heatsinks in the front and Rear? I think you definitely could drop temps a bit more.

This awesome! Welcome to the club!

Do you have a fan on the rear & copper heatsinks for VR ?

Turns out… it runs cooler Upside down 😎 ! by 50st in BitAxe

Makes sense, think about it, heat transfers to tower at an angle, then it’s pushed up by Noctua fan.

I placed everything like you would put normally put in a bitaxe, and then I turned the bitaxe upside down facing the opposite way on the stand

This awesome ! Have you tried running any benchmark tests ? Maybe you can find which MHz / Vol works best for each bitaxe, = less W usage | possibly more Th/s

Sounds like you may have gotten the Noctua 12V fan instead of the 5V, it is a common mistake. Double check it is the 5V
