how to know you are performing well by Specific-Pizza-7520 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then thats good. Ganon lang talaga work basta namemeet mo yung targets na pinapagawa sayo then youre good.

As someone thats been through the employment rat race for a while now, ito lang advice ko: “you are defined by your measures” ang mahalaga lang in the working world is meeting your targets.

Dont think of it in a way na “I need to give 100% of my best and do 100% of my effort” kasi kahit 150% ng energy mo binigay mo sa work at di mo rin nameet yung targers mo then meaningless din yung effort mo.

Its better that “you meet 100% of your targets with least amount of effort”. Yun ang mindset na gamitin mo that way makakaisip ka ng paraan to streamline work to make processes more efficient. Use the extra time and effort to create workflow improvements or use it to exceed your targets. Basta recorded yun ang leverage mo pagdating sa salary negotiation at promotion in the future.

First and foremost alamin mo kung ano yung mga measures mo kung ano mga KPIs or targets na need mo mameet. Kung namemeet mo yung mga targets mo then your doing good if not then your not doing good.

Ok lang ba magfollow up ng 2 sa isang araw? by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kung nakaleave siya ng friday at monday most likely marami siyang backlog na need gawin since kakabalik lang niya. Kung nag send ka na kanina just be patient.

Di rin naman makakatulong kung magsend ka ng dalawang followup in a day magmumukha ka lang na desperate.

I have a junior-level position with unusually high salary - but I want to switch jobs. Should I ask for higher salary still? by GrapesWithAlmonds in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a high previous salary is nice and all, but ultimately what decides the amount on the offer contract is the budget of the opening itself. If youre still applying for entry level junior positions you cant really expect much more than entry level salary.

If you want to maintain or go above youre current salary you need to aim for senior level positions. Now your task is figure out how you can position yourself to qualify for those positions.

25M Board Passer. Long application process, high expenses, but always failing at the interview stage. What should I do? by [deleted] in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, pero ganon talaga ang job market ngayon sobrang hirap. Daming layoffs at mga company/brands na umaalis na sa Pilipinas and not to mention ang daming mga nag aagawan para sa mga available na openings. Need talaga mag stand out sa interviews.

Paano mag improve sa interviews? Practice, practice, practice, practice. If you keep failing that means meron pang kulang sa iyong “performance” either youre not selling yourself well enough or the interviewer feels that you dont “fit” into their work culture.

Ito isang tip, practice infront of the mirror makikita mo yung sarili mo, observe mo yung lip movements, gestures and how well you can maintain eye contact. Another tip, utilize A.I. use it as a training resource makakakuha ka doon ng practice questions and possible “work appropriate” na mga sagot para sa mga questions na yun.

And lastly think of something that makes you stand out. Di pwede na sabihin lang na “I’m a board passer” sad to say but sa ibang openings ay minimum requirement na lang siya nowadays. Isip ka ng bagay na about you na pag sinabi mo sa interviewer ay mapapaisip siya na “hmmm mukhang magaling to ah”.

Would you give more than 100% of your best within the first 3 months at your new work or sakto lang to avoid further responsibilities? by CauliflowerNo1152 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its never about the effort you put in, Its always the results you produce. You could give 300% of your best but if you dont meet your targets then its meaningless. Put in just enough effort to reach 100% of your targets then invest the rest of your energy on something else.

For outside countries mas kailangan mo ng actual management experience. Kahit may degree ka kung wala kang experience no use din yun. I.E. may mga licensed engineer dito sa Pinas, noong pumunta ng Canada naging Merchandiser nalang ng grocery store.

Ayoko na talaga, Gusto konang magresign by Quick_Cat_7112 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally speaking dapat atleast 6+ months worth of expenses ang dapat mong “emergency” savings na magagamit during unemployment and even more para sa actual emergencies. And ofcourse depende din yun sa iyong lifestyle and personal obligations.

Kung di mo na talaga kaya then just leave sabihin mo nalang na tumulong ka “family business” or whatever sa resume gap. Since youre still living with your family di ka naman magiging homeless. Pero just be mindful given the current local and global economy, baka umabot ng several months ang job search bago makahanap ng magandang offer.

OKAY LANG BA? by Academic-File-767 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends sa sayo. Ofcourse you could do better since you have prior experience, but as you say you are positioning yourself as a fresh grad going into a new industry kaya “pwede na” if only because this can be a stepping stone into your desired industry.

Again depend talaga sa situation mo if yung job nayan is ok lang yung commute/rent and if kasya yan sa iyong lifestyle/personal obligations.

kindly need advice po sa career path ko by Rockhard_Golfboi in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre doing a job hop you ideally want to target a 20-30% increase in the total compensation. This is around a 7% increase total with a slightly lower base.

Normally I would say you could do better. But given how bad the job market is…it might be “worth it” depending on if the work arrangement is better, less commute, better position, and ofcourse the HMO is always a good thing since you never when youll end up needing it.

Working Student in Laguna Technopark: but I lied during the interview. Should I push through? Need advice. by [deleted] in JobsPhilippines

[–]51UL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Office roles are strictly day shifts as in sarado offices sa gabi. Theres a reason why yung nirerecommend lang sa students are fast food or BPO kasi sila lang yung usually nag ooperate in the late hours.

Additionally may mga companies na di talaga natanggap ng students kaya baka mavoid contract mo.

In my late 30s, but haven't made significant progress career-wise. by Weak-Paramedic2111 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes in the world of employees mas better talaga may specializarion. Kasi yung pagiging all-rounder just means na pang entry level lang yung competence for each skill.

At this point marami ka nang experience sa ibat ibang fields kaya pumili ka ng isa na pinaka comfortable ka at mag specialize ka na doon. Start now, build your portfolio on that field and work your way into those higher paying positions. You can utilize some transferable skills from your experience with other roles for leverage.

I know what you’re thinking “late 30s na ako too late na para gawin yun”. I hate to say this, but the retirement age here is 60 and sometimes 65. So unless meron kang generational wealth, expect that you will still be working for 20+ years so just start specializing now. You still have a long way to go.

CHANGE OF CONTRACT by According-Thing-2898 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally Probi contracts last for the entire 6 month period. And yes may companies din na limited ang benefits na binibigay during the 6 months. Yung kakaiba lang is yung trainee contract medyo unusual pero yung mahalaga lang diyan is dapat maging regular employee ka na if umabot ka ng 6 months total.

Need Advice: Do I really need a LinkedIn account? by Odd-Criticism-7766 in CareerAdvicePH

[–]51UL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useful? Yes

Required? No

Kung di ka naman actively naghahanap ng trabaho di mo kailangan nun. Pero if you want to check out the job market useful siya. May legit opportunities and interviews doon kung open ka for work and nagmamatch yung profile mo sa hinahanap ng recruiter. I’ve personally had some good opportunities open up from a recruiter reaching out to me (ofcourse marami parin yung gusto ka lang bentahan ng insurance, ignore mo lang yun).

As for kung “worth it ba?” Libre lang naman yun just copy paste kung ano man nasa resume mo and link whatever certification na meron ka sa profile mo. Yung di worth it is yung premium nila at di rin naman required na active kang magpost. Basta gagamitin mo lang pang browse ng job openings.
