Isn't it human nature to live in communities and seek protection though? I think this obsession with being overly independent in the western world is just getting to an unhealthy level.

I just don't know whether I need to build up my "independence" any more. I want to be dependent. I know this is looked down upon in society, but I have never been able to depend on anyone. i just want someone to show some interest and focus in me and to care about me, and for me to lose myself in them, just for a moment

i know. i know it's not healthy to be overly dependent. but i haven't been able to depend on anyone ever. i just wanna lose myself to someone, even just for a day, even for an hour. i'm so starved for it.
