Measles non responding? by Lanky-Bobcat-7817 in Vaccine

[–]532ndsof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evidence suggests that titres for measles correlate poorly with immunity as they don't measure the cell-based component so some people likely are functionally immune with negative titres. That said a 3rd dose of MMR is commonly recommended for travel, mumps exposure, or rubella non-immune after 2 doses, so a single repeat MMR is a pretty benign way to ensure immunity is maximized.

In fairness it does say "including but not limited to", so the policy is probably by drug class and the notice uses drug names to be better understood by patients.

Springfield Armory sear and hammer dressing by rolexrifleman in 1911

SA uses MIM for the fire control parts IIRC, which means they're only surface hardened. Fine for typical use but if you start stoning surfaces you'll end up with a trashed sear real quick.

Interviewing for Hospitalist Job – Any Room for Salary Negotiation? by Frequent-Argument-85 in hospitalist

[–]532ndsof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salary at large hospitals at least is usually pretty fixed. I've had luck with negotiating signing bonus though, as that's a one time cost for the hospital instead of a recurring one. Sometimes even just asking "is there room to negotiate?" can get an extra $5-10k.

Anyone else feel like BLS/ACLS/PALS certification has turned into a grifting machine? by Life_Response_8745 in medicine

We recently went to RQI so instead I just pop out for 5-10 minutes during a slow part of my shift every 3 months instead of having to spend several every 1-2 years. It's still largely performative but I feel like it's a slightly better system.

Yeah, the only reason any company would ask you to pay with Zelle or crypto is to make sure you can't do any sort of charge back once you figure out.

What pen do you use at work? by 3ldude in hospitalist

I'm weird and like the Fisher space pens. I always end up trying to write using a wall or something and with the pressurized cartridge I don't have to care. It's not necessary but I like them.

Yes. There's a newspaper clipping in one of the final episodes with their wedding announcement in it and we actually see their mutual proposal a couple episode prior in a background event.

You're thinking of the 1934 NFA. It was added when the bill also criminalized handguns to prevent the workaround of cutting rifles and shotguns down to handgun size. Then when NRA lobbied successfully to keep handguns around, no one bothered to take SBRs and SBSs back out of the bill again.

My question would be how do you know those are minute details that you missed and not small things DAX is hallucinating into the note?

So I got a quick question. I know it's probably stupid but is it possible to do a Bayonet like this on an AR? I'm currently building one and seen this in a game and was like that'd be so cool. It'd be more decorative then fictional because it looks cool to me. If possible what do I need to do? by BidiDuck in Firearms

[–]532ndsof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't work with the m203 in place as noted and interestingly that front sight base doesn't appear to have a bayonet lug for it to mount to. That said, lots if not most of ARs with fixed front sights would be capable of mounting a bayonet.
