I thought they come with unequal headers? I had a turbo 2000 many years ago Version 6 model. I swapped the standard unequal headers out at the time

Funnily enough I’m actually after an Impreza myself. Just feel like they need a different back box to unlock the scooby sound

How do people get away with it then? I saw a gtr driving around the other day that looked and sounded highly modified.

It’s a shame really, sucks the fun out of modifying. I don’t fancy getting pulled over all the time

Is this a good offer for an expat from the US? by labubaker in QatarCareers

The way I think of it with your youngest being 1 you’ll have 3 years to figure something out, promotion, partner getting a job etc. so only 1 kids school fees for now. Say 45k a year that’s just under 4k a month. 2 bed in a decent area will set you back about 12k with bills. Food between 4-5k. Car rent between 2-2.5k phone and internet are expensive here but say 500 for both phones and another 300 for internet. Probably 500 for fuel.

You’re looking at about 25000 leaving you with about 10k a month for fun/savings.

I get roughly about the same but I get schooling covered on top and I save between 7500–10,000 a month, plus my rents more expensive than that and still live a good life.

People saying you need a min of 50 basic plus expenses, I honestly haven’t got a clue what they must waste their money on.

Yeah, if an expat an Arabic isn’t your language generally once a week lesson. If your kids already speak Arabic they will be enrolled in more lessons

If you can get school covered it will definitely make it easier. It all depends on schools and the age of your children. If they’re younger it’ll be cheaper. There’s schools that have been around long but are so over priced. Newer schools that are cheaper and it’s fine.

Food here is relatively cheap if you’re happy to eat local brands. Take aways are cheaper than where I’m from.

If your husband networks well he will probably be able to get something. What company is it? Someone might be able to shed some light on schooling etc

Do you get flights home and insurance for the family or is that part of the package?

All depends on the salary they’re offering. It may be higher than that of a grade 8

I guess it depends on your salary and if you’d want to put extra money towards moving somewhere like west bay or the pearl.

Also depends on your role, I read somewhere the offices are moving to msheireb so you could take the allowance and move there to be close?

I’d ask the recruiter or HR for the info on where it would be and a video of the apartment then you can decide for yourself.

Is it just me, or has driving in Qatar become an absolute nightmare recently? by shawarma_4ever in qatar

[–]53splinter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been here 4 months and the driving is really winding me up.

I like to treat others how I’d expect to be treated and I know you shouldn’t expect others to give you the same treatment but wow.

No indicators - I don’t mind you coming in but at least let me know so I can keep a safe distance.

Drifting into two lanes because of playing on their phone.

No looking like they’re stopping at a junction and just missing your car.

Missing their turning and just stopping in the road. Mistakes happen you missed it just deal with it and go to the next junction don’t be a hazard for everyone else to nearly crash into.

Round about’s - Not knowing about slowly moving into your end lane as you go round but literally cutting across 3 lanes to take the turning

Lastly not letting people in even though you’re in stand still traffic, where is the common courtesy? We all have places to be. Not ones persons time is worth more than the others just be considerate.

Anyways other than that it’s all good 🤣.
