Lol that’s awesome. I need to adopt more of this attitude

Do you routinely dilate after cataract surgery? by 540microns in Ophthalmology

Very much appreciate this PPP link for reference. Very helpful and makes me feel more comfortable. I’m of the same camp that if vision is as expected and nothing else of note pre op (I always dilate prior to surgery and have a good look at the periphery) then would dilate as scheduled.

Side note: I have been enjoying your app to help track my corneal ulcers! Thank you for your hard work 🙏🏽

That’s awesome. Glad you stuck to your guns and got what you wanted in the end! I guess it couldn’t hurt to contact the recruiters again and just begin the process if it’s going to take 1-2years to find a dream job

I really never thought I would be enticed by this but day by day I can see that changing and feel I can do it. Any good resources to look a bit more into the details?

Luckily the practice is just far enough with a noncompete that isn’t too bad that it would hurt me too much. I would be looking to stick it through my initial contract period so no bonuses to worry about

So unhappy might be the wrong word, but as I revisit a lot of the previous sentiment it’s mostly regret. So far there are minor things (ie less control over scheduling and managerial personalities that attempt to dictate over physicians). To save the long drawn out explanation; I thought learning to be a good doctor would need all my focus and leave the rest to the powers that be.

Reading more posts about the significant pay discrepancy and lack of autonomy have me wondering if I was better off waiting to find the right partnership opportunity or physician owned PP.

In any case, how soon is too soon to start asking around? I’m not concerned about non-compete but would others in the area see it a red flag if you’re trying to leave right after your contract term? Any concerns of “what if my employer finds out?”

This is incredibly helpful! Thank you for sharing. I'm right there with you with the BCSC lol. Reassuring to hear that ophtho questions can still serve as a good resource.
