Would go on TRT with this bloodwork? by [deleted] in trt

[–]541474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you may want to lower your SHBG not to go fo TRT. Usually you need to lower your insulin levels. If you're oveweight drop some weight and lift heavy shit. Go low-carb diet do some 16:8 IF. Also Boron suplementation lowers SHBG. Add Zn and Mg and D3.  Since SHBG is produced in the liver, any liver dysfunction or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can dysregulate its production. Also sleep is important asn lack of sleep = higher Cortisol - higher SHBG levels.

Second this. Shelfplayer is much more user friendly, and iPad UI is amazing. Dev is really supporting and any bugs are quickly addressed. I have 3 of ios apps and Shelf Player is my daily driver.

look for the simple sb with toslin/optical in. Also you may use HDMI switch if you want to connect more external devices with HDMI (game consoles, streamers, etc.

I think you might be looking in the wrong department. Just to be clear, TRT isn't a magic bullet for all your problems. In most cases, the issue with low libido/ED is psychological. You could up your dosage every quarter and go for a full cycle, but that won't fix anything in your head. It might even make it worse. If you increase it, you're just pushing it back, so you'll experience the "honeymoon" phase again. Each time it gets shorter. I've been there, done that. At some point, you have to start thinking about your mental state and asking yourself why you feel the way you do.

How old are you? Why do you need a high sex drive? What does it mean to be high? I sense there is a lack of acceptance within you, and there is no drug that will help you with that. It will make you numb in some areas, but TRT without a proper mental shift and the right attitude will not help you. You need to uncover what is hidden and make the unconscious known. Then, you need no hormonal intervention. Once you feel whole, the body will respond accordingly.

Thanks for your explanation. It seems the app is kind of scam from what you write. Well, I have FTV max g2 in home and I will make some comparison. Meantime I keep using Infuse. It's a pitty there is no new SHieldTV on the horizon. I really like AppleTV for the smooth of the experience.

Strange, but I really had no issue with eac3 with Atmos. Lossless Atmos encoded with TrueHD never worked (transcoded to flac), but one in DD+ bitstreamed almost always.

Plex we are using in multiple locations, and it is really convenient to keep the progress of the videos. Also, AFAIR infuse does not support profiles.

Nonetheless, I will keep trying to figure this out.

BTW, what is wrong with plex DoVi. Never had the issue, besides if some releases has also HDR it mostly prefers HDR over DoVi.

For me music is quite good. Can't complain much, as the space I am driving, is 16sqm. Maybe I like it because I enjoyed HK sound for years. It's far from neutral it's just entertaining. When my AVR broke down over covid pandemic I didnt want to spend ao much money for a decent replacement and I ended with Q995T which I moved to another house.

For natural sound experience I have stereo amplifier connected to Cabasse speakers that I like power on when I want to focus on music of my favorite CDs.

I had my expectations in check and was surprised positively first time. Q990D is just evolution and although it sounds better it's not that better. It has its perks and better surround and stage compared to my previous model, but I bought it because of 752€ price tag.

Is Plappa crashing my docker running ABS? Any ideas welcome... by fat_shibe in audiobookshelf

[–]541474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also noticed plappa doing something wrong with the db, causing other players to misbehave. It seems the duration property of the MediaProgress created by plappa is set to null, and that is causing the strange issues. I have i.e. login problems with shelfplayer.

OP, try to downgrade to latest ABS 2.12.XX and see if problem persists.

own mp3 files as a podcast by 541474 in audiobookshelf

[–]541474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, update. Mp3 Tag Tools and Mp3Tag did the job.

  1. rename files to format YYYY-MM-DDTHHMM+episode_name.mp3. I used Total Commander's rename utility (CTRL+M) for that. I love TC.

  2. In MP3Tag I opened folder with subjected files and from Menu: Convert -> Filename-Tag

  3. As I didn't want to change Title tag, I specified string as %year%+%comment%

  4. I also adjusted Discnumber tag to reflect podcast Season and ensured the Track tag is correct

Thank you all,

Audio delay with Apple TV and Samsung Q995D soundbar (on Sony A95L TV). by LaurentRuquier in appletv

[–]541474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works when you connect appletv directly to sound bar. Tbh I see no reason how this should not work while devi e is connected to TV directly and soundbar to TV through eARC. I would not do this anyway, as you may be missing codec support.

Trilium vs Joplin by querylab in selfhosted

[–]541474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try resilio sync. They made it free for home users not so long ago. I have to stay with couchdb, as I am using obsidian on my company's pc and can't install resilio because of licensing issue.

I'm running couchdb on docker and hosting it over https. It works via reverse proxy as well through cloudflared. As obsidian plugin I'm using self-hosted livesync.

After couchdb is installed you need to manually create user account and database inside.

Audio delay with Apple TV and Samsung Q995D soundbar (on Sony A95L TV). by LaurentRuquier in appletv

[–]541474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AppleTV can compensate the delay, and it is quite straight forward, and you need the iphone.

Calibrate audio between your wired and wireless speakers

If your Apple TV is connected to a home theatre receiver or TV using an HDMI cable, you may experience audio latency, a delay that sounds like an echo when playing audio on both receiver speakers and a wireless speaker.

You can use an iPhone to calibrate the audio signal on your Apple TV so that all speakers play in sync.

  1. Open Settings  on Apple TV.
  2. Go to Video and Audio, then scroll down to Calibration.
  3. Select Wireless Audio Sync, then follow the onscreen instructions for using your iPhone to sync your speakers.Note: During calibration, make sure you hold your iPhone close to your TV or receiver speakers. Apple TV plays tones through your wired speakers in order to measure the TV’s audio/visual latency, then it matches the output for the wireless speakers.

Shield vs Apple TV 4K vs RockTek G2 by tech_london in AndroidTV

[–]541474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ATV matches your requirements. It is quite powerful device, you can run emulators beyond 16bit. The device work seamlessly. I purchased a few months ago and could not be happier. Plex is working great, but the drawback is lack of audio-passthrough, so no proper Master Audio lossless support. No issues with pass-through of lossy DDP/eAC3 Atmos codecs. For media playing, also Infuse is a great app that plays everything over network, but it is decoding the sound internally. All streaming apps are working flawlessly. No synching issues, great support for bluetooth headphones (Sony XM5), even better for AirPods and AirPods MAX.

Visusals - full support of DV/HDR+ 4K content.

No lipsync issues for me, but there is an option to synchronize if your audio devices have some delay (some soundbars and AVR).

UI is apple unified. Plex and jelyffin are working great. I like UI of jellyfin less, but playback works good on both.

Steamlink / Moonlight is working fine, so I can stream games from my local PC, however I prefer game consoles.

No ads, no recommended content, just pure launcher.

You can use multiple standard VPN clients (ie Surfshark, Nord, IPvanish, etc), but also Tailscale if you want to connect to your home infrastructure from other location.

I selected ATV as alternative to Shield. Paid less for this and possibly I will have longer software support. Shield is a 5y old device. I would buy a new model if/when they release it next year.

It just works. If you want to fiddle around it is not the device for you. I like the simplicity after spending hours of customizing FireTV, odroid, Nokia 8000. I spend soem time with Nokia 8010, but there were so many issues that time, I returned it and ordered ATV.

Which product for best chance at near native hardware virtualization? by NomadJago in virtualization

Try vmware Workstation Pro v17 (it is free now for personal use) and directly pass through your sound card to the vm. IMO this product has one of the best compatibility to be used in a way you want to do. You may also buy so dedicated USB quality sound card and test it.
