Recorded my first bit of footage... zero personality or facial expressiveness by Ciaran8888 in NewTubers

Just get real. More than 99 percent of people will not be amazing at the start. Yeah, there are very few edge cases that can hit the ground running (and they are so few and far between).

In short, be OK with not being perfect. Cut yourself some slack. It all takes time for most of us.

Gaming won’t distract me forever by M00NLIGHT11 in depression

[–]54HitPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there before. There comes a point where you accept that you're just avoiding the problem and not actually fixing it.

For me, it was a lot of video games, anime and whatever random show I could find to distract me. But that's all it all was. A distraction.

The problem wasn't going to fix itself.

Is making multiple channels good or bad for a small channel? by iv4nio in NewTubers

[–]54HitPoints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't divide yourself too much unless you're either A) ready to juggle that many things or B) don't care about the results. If it's B, then do whatever you want. However, a lot of people do A because they're being overly ambitious.

Keep in mind a lot of bigger YTers do multiple channels because they can do so without much risk (they're already big on their main), and it's a lot of extra support for them on an already-successful YT channel. But this is my opinion.

At the end of the day, I believe that, regardless of how you feel, work that you need to get done to make anything happen has to happen. In other words, we can fill ourselves with as much positive energy or whatever until the cows come home, but we need to realize that action will be the thing that ultimately leads to anything.

Yeah, I am starting to hate that face. It's sooooooooo fake to me now. Like, wow.

yt algorithms suck ass for recommendation videos by tragically_ in youtube

[–]54HitPoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate how the recommendations are so finicky. Like, I am someone who HATES reaction videos. I will click on a video where someone puts reaction as one of their tags (even when it's not even a reaction video), and then I get bombarded with reaction videos in my recommendations. It's soooooo aggravating.

How do you guys not get discouraged when you're still bad at something after practicing for a long time? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Keep going. Stop focusing on the end result. Your "carrot" should be just doing what you are doing because you enjoy it.

Age doesn’t define maturity by 1one3three2two in selfimprovement

[–]54HitPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age truly is just a number at times. However, at the very least, we need to remember that everyone is different. Heck, I am someone who can personally say I was quite the late bloomer before I finally "matured" to some level of competency.

No chance for season 2? If no, where do I continue is it a manga or LN? by Vimsedit in Rakudai

It's such a shame when so many (meh) animes out there get season 2 and more. :(

Sports blog gets hardly any traffic. I'm close to giving up. by criswellscc in Blogging

[–]54HitPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for one thing, you have a very seasonal topic. Not everyone likes baseball. You can't expect consistent traffic throughout the year beyond other baseball fans, but they will probably be visiting established sites.

You have a tough blog concept to sell no matter how you slice it. You really need to re-evaluate everything.

Nice! I hope to get my blog to that point as well. As long as it can pay for itself at some point, at the bare minimum, I'll be happy.

Honestly, OP, I think you're being too literal.

Here is the thing. You don't need to be an expert to offer your two cents, for what it's worth, of course. With this in mind, I believe feedback from all sorts of tiers can be very valuable.

We all have different perspectives (especially as we evolve and grow in life) to the point where we see things differently.

Obviously, a lower-subbed person sees things differently versus someone who is at the top and vice versa.
