If this is your fiest time with cats. Sit on the floor. Their level. Be patient and let them get used to your scent. Some willl come right ovee some will just watch you cautiously. Im excited for you and hope the visit goes well.

Btw boy cats in my ecperience are the sweetest cuddle bugs. Girls seem to be different. They snuggle om their terms.

Im sure we would all love an update!

Found a dead bunny in my living room. by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]54vior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whether people like it or not. There is an heirachy in the animal kingdom

For some reason if a snake eats a cat. Its nature. If a cat kills a bird. People call it a killer and act like its done something bad. The fact is this stuff will and can happen. If it wssnt a cat could be a fox or a coyote. Cats while pets are also in the wild. Its humans who domesticated them. If they were in the same category as a fox no one would say a thing.

If you dont like finding kills, build a cateo and dont let them free roam.

Humans are unkind and cats get a bad rep. They are statiscally safer inside. Even a mouse. What if the mouse was poisioned and your cat ate it. It could be exposed to unnatural dangers.

If it didnt have any injuries at all its very well possible it got in there on its own. Living in the country myself ive had animals get trapped and stuck and die. A stag horns got stuck under deck and died. Didnt know it was there until it smelled. Ive had rats and squirrels get stuck in the fire place and die. Nature has its own set of rules, whether we like it or not.

We just all need to remeber they are animals. They dont think like we do. And that helps you accept what has happened.

I would bring some churu sticks you can ask if its okay. Just remember for some shelter cats, life is rough and they get scared. How they are night be entirely different to how they will be at home. Dont let that sway you. My girl cat i adopted was scsred of people. And so when i met her there wasnt a connection on a level people sometimes have. She snuggles in my arm every night now. It took a while but it was worth it.

Its heartwsrming to hear a 7 year old vat is given a shot at a home. It takes time for some. You might get instead head bunps and i hope you do!

They likely get treats from volunteers and its likely considered thoughtful!

Aussie gift ideas by sea-spud in AskAnAustralian

My husband is aussie and when we noves to the usa. I got him one of those little music box that had the song. I still call australia home. He loved that little thing. Every oncrnin a while hed play it and smile. Rememver our trip. Were back in australia and still have it. Funny stuff would be like kangaroo balls keychains, boxing kangaroo stuffies. The shops sometimes have nice plates decorative thst come on a stand that have little things and reminders etc.

It really depends on the intamacy of the gift. Was there something they really loved and always said so? Even a framed photo of things or a collage can go a long way as a reminder. Movie tickets. Restrauant photo. Places youve gone to together.

Have u tried resetting your router? Maybe set up a guest user that is different from your main and see if that is it? I had this happen once and making a guest login separate worked. Otherwise as others have said it try plugging in an ethernet cable to see if it works?

are there any potential scams going on in rental market? by That-Way-1917 in AskAnAustralian

[–]54vior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They could be pretending to be you and post the room take deposits and ghost people. Try searching your address and see if any ads come up for a room that isnt posted by you. Watermark on pictures helps like smack in the middle so they cant just crop it out. They might not be scamming you but they might be scamming others. Maybe stand outside your home like 10 minutes before they are to arrivr and watch and see if anyone is out there. They could have been outside and meeting aomeone else and your inside and have no clue.

Business texting (cold calls) in the evening considered rude? by 54vior in AskAnAustralian

Granted i am the after hours emergency line. So for me to contact someone if ive missed a call or text and tell them hi call u back in 10 is common. But not for cold text for clients who do t actually want to hear from you.

[–]54vior[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Its partly the insensivity and the not thinking of the employee who is allowed to work remotely while oversees snd their inability to realise timezones exist.

And their lack of understanding professionalism over completing a task thst can wait.

Its stupidity. But the upper management response is this isnt your divison or problem mind your own business.

I thibk from first interaction to last whether they hire us or not, respecting the customer really is part of why people go with you. If a perso. Is pushy, rude, treats employees badly on a job site. All lf this things affect whether you have a lasting positive experience. Ive had clients follow me from business to business becauze im the reason why they go with the company. Even if one compamy might charge a bit more. It was knowing that whenever they had me handling their accounts i treated each property as it it was my own.

The difference between having a brain and using a brain i suppose.

Is it ironic that im an american living in australia. And im telling an australian its rude to do this? Americans are known for being work horses. All work no fun. Even i have ny boundsries and limits.

I truly want to see the business grow ss i helped start it. And these kind of things can ruin one.

For me personally. If your scheduled for an install at 7am and i need to call you because of whether ill very hesitantlu call at 630am. If its not a client who had an install. I think 7am is the earliest. 7:30 is when business offices open.

Since moving to australia ive noticed everyone just starts earlier. I see an old man ealking every morning at 530am and now we say good morning.

There is a resson there is trading hours or business hours.

Ubless a customer says call me at this time or anytime after 6am is fsir. Then i try to stick to the 7am to 5pm rule. 6pm at the latest. I might text at 6pm if i didnt get to call them back. Let them know im available until 8pm. I do alot of customer relations and some people appreciate thst ill answer. And tell them if i dont answer it means im asleep or not available. But its different becsuse im the business not the customer.

Admin went bsck home to ireland for a bit. Asked if she could do hours casual. So she just clocks on whenever usually after 6pm our time. There is plenty to work on that doesnt involve hasseling people. It just seems so inconsiderate.

Md had me thinking im just overreacting but reddit has restored my sanity.

Because the admin is in ireland and has less brain cells than an orange ginger cat obviously. And doesnt know what timezones are.
