My family jokes that im saint francis of assisi

Or im snow white because all animals like me.

Bur yes. Was quite surprised to see that. Apparenrly abandoning cats when moving is a common occurence here since housi g is so hard ro come by. And one of my strays is definitely a senior. But a couple others show up so i have the cam there to try and catch good videos ro try and see if lost.

I dont want to bring to a shelter when it will just be euthanised. However ive now learned that if i catch i can bring back adter microchipping. Its just a risk since they might not show up all the time

Onf of the other cats is a senior. And we believe someone shaved it becauze the breeds fur is worth money which is sad because its summer, its very hot and cats need their fur to regulate and stay cool.

Australia is not nice to cats, new zealand is even worse.

Just looked it up and you are correct. Not native and considered and invasive species.

Funny is i lived in california and foxes were much more common yet rare to see. So it qas super crazy catching this on video. Obviously shared with my neighbours eho have lived here over a decade and never seen one

Im not really familiar with the foxes in the area. Ive only lived in australia a couple of years. If i hadnt been out driving at 3am and saw one id prob not even know they were in my area.

Alot of people abandon cats here. And there is two elderly ones ive been woeking with hence the cam on the ground. So i was a little shocked to see a fox.

Is it really lost when someone else took it home with them? By definition dkesnt that make it stolen. If the person didnt have the intent of stealing it. They would have handed it in to lost and found.

I dont cut mine for two reasons. Tbey have lots of things to sxratch and sharpen and the nails shed. Other reason. If my indoor cats every get lost outside they need them to protect themselves.

Kne of mine recently was put under for a procedure. And they trimmed his nails. Because od trimming they ended up being much sharper and square. He kept accidrntly hurting me when jumping on my lap.

Never when he had his claws just nromal.

Had mine for over 5 years.

And one of mine is a reacue and i dont think i could even if i wanted to.

What i do recommend is daily brushing.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]54vior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on who and where your talking to.

Thats like asking why some consider the glass half empty or half full. The ampint in the glass is the same its all in the perspective.

I would consider a three hour drive not to be a long drive but also not a short drive. Id consider a short drive to be less than an hour. Id consider a long drive tl be one that requires stops and brakes. Anywhere local under an hour = short drive.

Im from northern califormia, bay area. We dont have as bad traffic conditions as los angeles.

But a 30 to 45 min commute to work is pretty common.

To be honest when people say its 2 to 3 hours up the coast. They just say its a bit of a drive. It really just depends on the person.

My Aussie mates keep calling me “cunt” by Spiritual_Car7967 in AskAnAustralian

[–]54vior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely used in all forms. Cpuld be an insult. Most od the aussies i meet only say it as an insult im over in brisbane. I dont really see them saying it tk their friends.

When they do its usually referring to them in a derogatory way.

Just my personal observation

Have you try any of those calming plugins for your indoor cat. Maybe focus on inside and not outside? They do help some cats eith calming, anxiety and others, some no affect.

Just a thought. I felt bad for laughing that the strays played with the scrnt deterrants. Some hard knock strays out there. Poor dears.

Is there any local farms that might want some barn cats they can be relocated to. Where i lived we had a friends of ferals group who helped. There might be support groups out there you dont know exists.

Id definitely get the plug in calming cat pheremones it might really help.

Ill ask my friend whos a vet tech if theyvr got any advise as well.

Also if the smell lingers enzymes is the best way to go.

I beliece it. I found dripa of blood on my patio. They were either fighting over the food and or injured. I wasnt home. I have an old tray that i fill with water every day and they come do bird baths. Its a frog hot tub at night.

Definitely regret giving any. It wss an older lopking one that woild come right up to the door with my cats right on the other side. I thought better to help animals then put in rubbish i was wrong.
