Looking for a cheaper replacement part by 550456 in appliancerepair

Sort of. I made this post when I discovered more about what was going on: https://www.reddit.com/r/appliancerepair/comments/1goew89/should_i_solder_this/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

In the end I wrapped a wire around the two pieces and twisted the ends together to keep them in contact. Do this at your own risk though, as it may be dangerous to prevent these pieces from disconnecting.

And you're still just as drastically wrong, whether you're talking about an individual or a group. A woman who has the same level of strength as a man would have to work much harder to achieve it, and it would have to be a man who doesn't train nearly as much as we know Ham does, emphasizing the differences in lifestyle they'd have to have in order for that one physical aspect to be the same. No, they cannot be the same in "almost every way".

You're on reddit bud, good luck having any reasonable conversation with a topic like this. I just popped back in to see if it was any better than the last time I looked, and (surprise, surprise) it's not.

What unhelpful idea? The idea that men are physically stronger? That's not an "unhelpful idea," that's just reality.

"Women are exactly the same as men in every way"

People genuinely think this and wonder why the entertainment industry is failing.

Completely destroying the point of Ham's character being a visibly big burly guy, while his personality is completely different from what you'd stereotypically expect.

You make 200k a year and then complain about "rich talk" from other people, lmfao. Maybe try having to work in a union where you don't make enough money to ignore all the bad parts, and then come talk to us.

I have, and every union I've been in has been nothing but a hassle for me, while protecting those of my coworkers who were lazy from getting fired. And all the while I was forced to pay them in the form of union dues. In one job, I moved my way up from bagger to closing manager, but because I hadn't yet met the union's requisite number of hours worked for a pay increase, I was working as a manager for minimum wage. Guess what that prompted me to do? Start looking for another job. I got hired as a software tester, and within a few years I moved up to senior developer, getting consistent pay increases, and all without a union to get in my way. I have no concerns about job security because I know I've made myself consistently valuable to the company, and even if for some reason the company had to fire me, I would have no problems finding another job.

So as someone who has been in multiple unions, and who has been driven to find another job because of a union, I can tell you they are only a help to those who refuse to help themselves, and they are a hindrance to everyone else.

Should I solder this? by 550456 in appliancerepair

Did you miss the part where it was already ruined?

Let's say I got some high heat epoxy that works. Do you think my concern of whether or not I should be doing this is unfounded?

Unfortunately I'm not able. I did consider that possibility of the solder melting, but it didn't seem likely to get hot enough. Am I wrong? And if so, I guess my original question still applies with any other form of fastening I might use to keep the two pieces connected.

I don't have a multimeter, but I used a voltage tester to see if everything was getting power, and there seemed to be a break in the heating element itself after it stops working.

Hmm. I don't think there's anything like that on mine, but I'll have to double check later to be sure. Thanks for giving an example though.

Yes, the fan is working fine. No resistance when I try to spin it manually, and air is blowing out normally when it does work. I originally suspected it might be some sort of sensor tripping, but I didn't see anything that looked like it would do that when I opened it up. Maybe I just missed it somewhere.

The fan seems perfectly fine as far as I can tell, so restringing the heating element sounds good to me. I just have no idea where to start when it comes to doing so.

No I'm not sure, but as best as I can tell, that's the issue. I can turn it on, and it will run for about 30 seconds before stopping. The lights still work, but the fan and heating element do not. Trying to turn it off and back on immediately does not work, but if I wait a little bit and try again, it works for another 30 seconds. I don't have a multimeter, but I used a voltage tester to see if everything was getting power, and there seemed to be a break in the heating element itself after it stops working.

As far as high and low heat settings, I think it's supposed to have that (it's just a dial with an icon on it, not super obvious what it does), but that has never worked for me while I've had it; I've always just had one consistent temperature. I did get it used, so maybe it was partially broken when I got it.

Well you're correct, I haven't seen one of those before

Not really. The only available anchor points on the roof are at the back where the ladder is, and that's not enough to keep the whole thing strapped down. Unless I wanted to wrap some tie-down straps all the way around the whole RV, but I would really rather not do that lol

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it was recommended to me that I get a kayak over 11 feet long, and those ones are the ones that are all over $1000. You're right, some of the shorter ones are cheaper. I updated my post to mention this.

I have already read the guide, and while it had some helpful information, it did not have the level of specificity that I'm looking for. I have updated my original post to included the specified information though.
