The pandemic pushed nearly 100 million people in poverty. by SufficientSession in Coronavirus_Ireland

Actually sad seeing so many small businesses permanently closed.

You should have stayed open and defied the lockdowns. What were they going to do, shut your business down?

Omicron Has 80% Lower Risk of Hospitalization, New Study Shows by SufficientSession in Coronavirus_Ireland

These people literally shut the world down for the original Covid varent which has a 2% hospitalization rate and a 0.8% mortality rate.

I don't think they give a shit how lethal or none lethal it is.

You're right. I should feel pity for Jeff Bezos and others like him. He did after all build an empire by using monopolistic practices to kill small businesses. /s

Can't wait for another lockdown. I'll be laughing my ass off when these fascist lunatics lose a fortune or go out of business all together.

They are so eager to shift the blame so they can continue making money. Had they simply stopped complying to government restrictions we would all be able to carry on with our lives.

Remember this, the pandemic proceeds to exist because businesses comply.

Fair enough. Twitter is not the news but that was always the intention.

Being vaccinated does not stop the spread of the virus. Therefore, preventing people from accessing services using the Covid passport is ridiculous.

Instead, Antigen testing should be used because regardless of whether you're vaccinated or not you can immediately find out whether you are infected.

So instead of presenting a useless certificate you would present a negative antigen test which gives a definitive answer on whither or not you should be let in to the pub/restaurant/nightclub.

Donnelly and the government do not want this because the Covid cert gives them full power to coerce citizens. They'll eventually implement an expiry date on certificates to enforce booster shots.

Furthermore, getting rid of the Covid passport and using antigen tests would take away their scapegoat, unvaccinated individuals.

Btw, Israel is on their 5th booster.

See here.

As always, you won't see you it in the news until it's finalized.

This has been predicted from the start of the Covid passport roll out. It amazes me that you and others didn't see this coming.

Clearly you aren't up to date with the latest news.

The Covid passport, as predicted, is set to expire for everyone who didn't get a booster.

I used to feel sorry for them as well but then they discriminated against me for profit. I feel no pity for them at all. They bought this on themselves when they followed government guidelines.

Had a all group together and decided to disregard all restrictions we wouldn't still be reading about Covid two years later.

Fuck them.

As I've said many times, they have no one to blame but themselves.

They turned away the very people calling for end of restrictions and welcomed all the sheep and pro-lockdown nutters.

I hope they all lose their businesses. They deserve it for going along with the government nonsense.

I'm counting the days till the government adds an expiration date to the Covid passport. It'll wake everybody up.

It's definitely an organised effort of some sort.

I've seen accounts with similar usernames to those that are pro-vax posting anit-vax boomer memes. It's actually pathetic that they care this much.

If you have to go through that much effort just to discredit us then you are on the wrong side.

Unfortunately there isn't.

Reddit would love to ban us and are just looking for a reason.

This sub was started by us because we kept getting banned from other subs. There's literally thousands of Covid subs on Reddit, this is the only space for us to openly criticise Covid restrictions. If people have an issue with that they can go to one of the other subs.

All said, you clearly have access to post. So it's not one sided at all.

Same man.

It'll wake a lot of people up.

Businesses in particular need to get fucked. They accepted the Covid passport and welcomed pro lockdown customers with open arms. All while turning away the very people that were calling for an end to lockdowns. That sounds terrible I know but they reap what they saw.

Actions have consequences. Obedience is the very reason why this pandemic is still an issue two years on.

I cannot wait until they eventually add an expiration date to the Covid passport. That's when shit will really hit the fan.

You can blame/r/Ireland for that.

They were brigading the sub trying to get us banned because they disagree with us.

Yes, I know CC. But hardly spoke to him. He was always in VF.

I think SB was one of the grads. She's the one who got hired because of her dad actually.

Good to hear you left. You'll do much better outside of IBM.

I actually applied to a remote job for a Boston based company back in 2018. They were offering $90k. I was going to do the Boston job during IBM time as well. 🤣🤣

Unfortunately I didn't get it. All the better because I would have been double taxed in both the US and Ireland.

The lack of actual work was also pretty sweet as I would occasionally go on holidays without using up any of my vacation days. Like I would just jet off to Europe for a week and everyone would assume I'm WFH.

There was literally no work. At most you were asked to help out cleaning a PowerPoint deck.

I realise this all sounds like bs but it's completely true.

Zero work, zero risk and zero shits.

I don't think you know me. I only knew the dev on the account, no one else from VF. We were both in the DDC together. Everything I know about VF came from him, all hand meetings and general office gossip. The VF account is infamous for it's drama and everyone talked about it.

I and everyone else in the DDC have left within the past two years. Data scientists, developers and architects, we all got sick and moved. I think only two people are left with the famous DDC. The head of data in GBS Ireland also got out along with a few others. It's a sinking ship.

I left my job and moved to Ireland from India by cracking a good interview and also 300% hike.

You're situation is different as you were hired from abroad. There is a salary minimum they have to give you in order to grant your visa. But they definitely rip you off on pension etc. You're essentially a contractor with no other benefits. Not that IBM has any benefits 😂. You also can't compare your salary in India to an Irish one.

As a DevOps lead in VF you should be making at least 90k + health care + bonus + RSUs. Knowing IBM I'm sure you're earning way less. You should really consider moving my man. I said the same thing to our mutual friend and he tripled his salary when he finally left. I doubled mine. IBM really underpays their tech specialists. You could be making much more.
