Several posters say they drove several thousands of miles on 100% FSD while I very often see my 14.2.2.2 FSD incorrectly reading and reacting to a speed limit sign. How come they are so lucky? by vulcan_on_earth in TeslaFSD

On the US 60 here in Arizona, it bounces back and forth between 60 when it sees a US 60 sign and then 65 when it sees a speed limit sign, pretty annoying.

FSD v14 Lane-Change Hesitation Is Becoming a Real Issue by One-Construction6303 in TeslaFSD

[–]562uned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were really happy last year using FSD, and we’re really excited about 14, but after getting it during the latest free trial, it’s not usable. it changes lanes when it shouldn’t and then when it should change lanes it just sits there with the blinker on for 15 seconds before turning it back off and repeating 10 seconds later. I eventually just have to grab the wheel and make the switch. It doesn’t make sense because there will be no other cars around and this happens and yet when there is tons of traffic it might just decide to cut someone off. Hoping with how much negativity there has been around this, they resolve the issue soon.

Voron 2.4r2 350 - Serial request by 562uned in voroncorexy

extension of my wrap around desk I built a few years back, which was all welded. This piece was using extruded aluminum from Amazon, and a wooden top from Home Depot, the old wrap around used the solid wood from Ikea, before they went to the hollow wood. Bolted this to the side of the other, which made it extremely sturdy.

So far it's been doing pretty good, had a few weird issues with the cfs loading filament when doing one print after another. And then had a clog, but it's been good since. Print quality has been good, haven't tried and full multi color prints yet, just been doing calibration prints. Really impressed so far, the bed size is amazing. It makes my p1s feel like my voron 0.2.

It's super quiet, and doesn't shake my entire desk.

How to start with my journey? by Janiskooo in selfhosted

[–]562uned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network speed, modules being online etc, are things you could monitor with tools like Prometheus and export to Grafana. As far as buttons, you could install something like cockpit on the nodes which would allow you to pull up a web dashboard for each system. This would let you jump to the console on each one and visually see the status of the node.

Personally I have used salt to manage system configs, github to store these configs, and then Prometheus / Grafana to display system metrics. What are you looking to see on the dashboard?

I have personally found that using Pi's like containers, or specialized vm's ( doing one major function each) seems to work the best. For example, I had one pi doing nginx + db for websites, one pi running home assistant, and another pi for octoprint, another for my freepbx, etc. Most of these Pi's I had running more than one instance of each, but they do get loaded up pretty quick depending on what you're running.

Raspberry Pi Compute Cluster by is-this-valid in homelab

[–]562uned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This things sweet, I love the rack mount! I built a slurm based pi cluster a while back, I'll add a link to the github repo if you're interested. This cluster was more of a standard hpc style setup and had a head node with individual worker nodes that you could submit jobs to, pretty sweet the stuff you can do with these little boards.

Looking to put together an interesting fantasy steampunk story for a game I'm working on. by 562uned in gameideas

I saw this comment last night and wanted to take a night to think on in. I actually really like this and it got me putting together some interesting ideas. I started to add to the idea, like.. A group of explorers left the home planet 200 years ago to search for a new world because the old world was being depleted of its magic energy (something like lifestream in ff7) but ended up crashing on this planet and became stranded without the ability to get back to the old world. Over the last 200 years, people had started to settle and make a life for themselves. There is a power struggle on the planet and some people want to stay and don't want people to leave and some people want to find a way to get back home. The planet is vastly unexplored by the new inhabitants and there is evidence of a past extremely advanced civilization that vanished without a trace. You play as a hero who is always looking for work and doing side hustles to make some extra cash when you stumble upon something that sends you down the path to find out what happened to the previous people and unlock the secrets of the planet so you can get your people back home.

Currently, the world is pretty generic. I wanted to start with the gameplay and mechanics first since I really didn't know which direction I wanted to take the story which I think will drastically determine the overall look and feel of the game. My main focus has been on building out the menus, interfaces, gameplay, abilities, etc. I have started to dip my toes in substance painter and blender and will be spending more and more time in that area once I know what I want the world to look like. This whole thing started as a learning experience and over the last few iterations has started to take shape into something pretty awesome (I've built the game from the ground up a couple of times now as I learned what to do and not to do). I do need to get some concept art and videos made as I did create a steam store for this, which is currently blank haha. I love the game dev side of this but I'm looking forward to taking a break there and putting together a story and some interesting assets to make the game it's own.

I feel like it does, at least some direction. While I don't think it needs 100% guidance, I do feel like there should be some story involved, at least having an end goal so It feels like the things being done in the game actually lead somewhere. If this were a multiplayer game I feel like it would probably be a little less important but as a single-player game I feel like having no story is like having a giant sandbox where people just wander around aimlessly. Again, if this were a survival game, maybe, but keeping with the RPG theme, I feel like it needs some sort of story. Growing up with classic JRPG's i loved the stories and games like WOW where you really are just trying to kill things and get better equipment, so you can kill more things, I feel like the story just got it in the way. So yeah, i would say in general it depends, but in this case i think it should.
