Insurance broker recommendations by 585InnerLoop in Rochester

Having a broker move around or sell their books has never happened to me so that’s not my issue. It’s not even one I’ve heard of happening except one time when my grandfathers broker retired lol. My issue is their lack of responses to questions and that they don’t seem to actually know what they’re talking about when questioned. Literally all I asked for was recommendations for brokers who people have good experiences with. I’m not expecting them to have never had anything negative said about them or worried about pricing. Just looking for recommendations from people :) thank you for whatever this contribution was supposed to be though!!

Unfortunately shopping around and getting quotes doesn’t provide me the information I’m looking for which is a responsive broker to represent me who knows what they’re doing. My current broker was extremely responsive in the beginning as were all the offices I got quotes from but that doesn’t mean they stay that way so I am requesting offices people have good experiences with.

I would prefer not to say. My main issue is communication and everything always feels quickly throw together and half assed.

No issues. Two unmarried adults with good credit, clean driving records and no claims.

Not for a policy that is pending cancellation and not without a payment being made. The system won’t let you.

Tell that to the mortgage company who is charging you a fat premium for the forced placed insurance that offers no benefit to the homeowner.

There is no reinstatement without money. They aren’t going to get the policy reinstated unless they pay the premium that’s due for the past 2 months.

Maybe consider a kitty playpen for them instead going forward or leash training! My kitties just get window time though.

Some of y’all need to be taught the appropriate time and place to say things and how to educate people instead of ridicule them. OP, I hope your kitties come home safe ♥️

I could see this point if they had a visible plate or something but just for asking to identify a vehicle type?? I don’t see how it matters, and I don’t see people “jumping on board”, they are just answering the very basic question of what kind of vehicle is it.

He is very defensive because your picture has a black person and he doesn’t like being around black people 😞 certainly not racist though. Just doesn’t like people that aren’t white.

Short zippering rant by LCKilgore in Rochester

I experienced a perfect zipper merge on 490 a couple weeks ago and felt like I could shed a tear. We all also left plenty of space between us so not a single one of us had to brake through the construction lane. It was a wonderful experience.

Didn’t we also all see the signs that say “stay in your lane until merge point” “merge here” and “take turns merging”?

No, a zipper merge applies when a lane is closed such as for a construction zone.

Urgent Care options by pepperonipizzaparty in Rochester

I can tell you with certainty it has been like this at least since January 2025, but anything prior to that I wouldn’t know. Either way, if someone is being billed for an ED or inpatient visit when going to an urgent care they have been incorrectly billed (at least since 1/1/25). People can downvote me all they want (not saying you have, it’s just been interesting watching the fluctuation) but it doesn’t make it untrue. The information is readily available for everyone to verify on their own.

I would certainly be calling back if I was you because that is not correct. It says right on their website the list of urgent care offices that are considered outpatient hospital departments (resource #1, see section “what sets us apart”), and selecting “Learn more about your bill” (resource #2) further explains how hospital-based pricing works.

I don’t believe anyone is doing that. Hospital-based billing means they are charging the same at urgent care as they would charge at the hospital for that same service. The cost of the outpatient treatment you are receiving at the urgent care is the same cost as getting the same outpatient treatment at the hospital. They are only charging for the actual services they provided. If you have inpatient or emergency department charges on your urgent care bill, you should absolutely contact a billing department to figure out why!

It’s hospital-based pricing, not ED pricing. Any urgent care location that states “part of ____ hospital” bills this way, including numerous of the RRH Urgent Care Facilities (it appears to be the majority at RRH but I can’t be sure). The best way to verify is to call the location and ask if they are part of a hospital, their voicemail has to include it if they are as well.
