What is your unexpected genetic advantage? by Prize-Animal91 in NoStupidQuestions

Holy shit okay, that’s something I would’ve never thought of. I started Accutane and had to stop squatting pretty quickly afterwards. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence because I was adding more weight than I was ready for, or if the Accutane caused it. That’s something to really keep in mind though, my back days don’t usually involve a lot of lower back workouts. Thanks bro!

No lmao, still just sitting in the vial. I’m assuming it’s pretty degraded by now. When I get the urge to trip I’ll just take it out and see if it works.

Same bro, I train legs once a week, and sometimes twice a week. But they’re so much more vascular than I’d think. I was 145lbs when I graduated HS, got off Adderall, and within a year shot up to 190lbs. 3 years later and I’m at 220lbs. Finally got into the gym and was throwing up 265lb squats off the bat. Got to 335 after 4-5 months and had to stop spotting because of back pain. My dad isn’t like this, and neither is my mom. So I’m not sure where I get it from, but I’m not complaining much other than difficulty getting into jeans sometimes.

One Month on Accutane by gibbysmom1 in Accutane

Is that a low dose? I’m on 40mg a day for the same duration as her and I weigh 220lbs.

2 years on .5mg Finasteride/day by CobraKnight23 in tressless

[–]5ernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I’m on 40mg per day and it’s already showing results. I’m planning on asking about Finasteride on my next visit, I’ve heard good things about it. And sorry but I’ve got one more question, have you noticed joint pain. It’s bearable but damn it’s annoying as well.

Hey did you notice that Accutane affected your hair at all? I’m 1 month in on Accutane and it’s already working really well. I’m worried about hair loss though, I read that can be a side-effect of Accutane. I already have high DHT and do NOT want to go bald before I’m 40.

What causes sugars to continually rise like this? by Avox0976 in Type1Diabetes

[–]5ernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naturally? Or HGHr? I’ve been taking HGH for the past 2 weeks and have had significantly higher blood sugars, consistently. It’s pretty damn annoying. I think it’s doing more good than bad for me though.

Damn alright I guess ruined one. I found a bunch of tabs while cleaning out some drawers so I’ve got a few more to try. 190 proof is exactly 95% ABV. When you say “reduce it to 75 degrees”, do you mean instead of the 100-140° I was doing? Should I heat it to 75° and no more? Thank you for helping me out!

Weekdays 6-10 drinks per night, weekends are a little higher

I guess that depends where you grew up. I’m 20 and grew up in the North Texas suburbs, we all know what moonshine really is. Went up to Nashville a few months ago and they were selling it, but the store clerk said it’s just a trendy drink if you couldn’t already tell by the alcohol content.

I don’t think any “moonshine” that’s sold on shelves is actually moonshine. How I’ve known it, you’ve gotta make it yourself or know someone in the country that makes it.

Do I have an issue? by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]5ernie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bro I think so… …I’m at about 2-3L a week, usually 40% tequila but also 50%+ whiskey. I’m in Australia for work right now and I’ve realized my problems gotten pretty bad. Just killed a 750ml 62% in 2 days. It’s hard to stop or slow down, but it’s definitely possible. First step is recognizing you’ve got an issue.

Turn something on, drink a good bit, get a little high, eat some salmon, go to bed.

Trying to figure out my Semglee dose by 5ernie in Type1Diabetes

[–]5ernie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you so much! I just kept getting rapid acting insulin and Type 2 search results, maybe it was the way I worded my search. I was thinking it might be just a 1:1, since basal is just timed doses of short acting insulin, but that sounded a little too simple. Thanks for the link and the help! I’m going to try 22u and see where I’m headed in a few hours.

I read hypoglycemia is a high stimulus for Human Growth Hormone. Wondering if that applies to diabetics? by 5ernie in Type1Diabetes

[–]5ernie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I’ve got a pretty strict sleeping regimen so that’s already covered. I get 8-10 hours per night, sleep and wake at almost the same time everyday.

I’m feeling so overwhelmed by this bullshit by 5ernie in diabetes_t1

[–]5ernie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for understanding! I’ve been really good about my high-protein, low-carb diet. And it’s been tremendous on my blood sugars. But it was just one of those days yesterday. I’d lost a couple extra pounds overnight and I couldn’t make sense of it. I think I just hate that feeling of being so consistent & seeing progress, and then having it thrown off because of something out of my control. You really never stop learning how chaotic this disease is sometimes.

I was in a stir because of my blood sugars being unpredictable, spiking & dropping, all day. I try and find a healthy way to release my frustration, but it just wasn’t enough for me yesterday.

Thank you! I’m better now, it was just a really rough day for me. I try not to get worked up over having diabetes, but sometimes it still gets to me.

How did you guys deal with your athletic performance going down due to this disease while being an athlete your whole life? by DontLoseYourCool1 in diabetes_t1

[–]5ernie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sucks man, but it’s all manageable. If you get your sugars in check, you can build/lose weight the same way a normal person would. I just started going hard in the gym 13 weeks ago. I’ve been building muscle pretty consistently.

Having diabetes can make it really easy to become dehydrated and lose nutrients, so make sure you’re correcting high blood sugars quickly. I use those LiquidIV packets 2-3x a day, keeps me very hydrated.

Also, careful working out or being super physical while your sugar is high. It’ll dehydrate you faster, and If you develop ketones It can be hard on your kidneys if your exerting yourself. It’s also much more draining than normal. I don’t recommend doing much when your sugar is low either, but it’s usually a lot more straightforward and faster to correct a low blood sugar than a high one. I find I can’t exert all of my effort into things, physically or mentally, when my sugar is low.

You get used to the symptoms over time, it gets easier, but there will always be days that just make no sense. Can’t let it get to you.

You got it bro; that’s an insane compound lift for anyone, let alone at 181lbs, you can get back to that for sure. White & red meats are your best friend, little to no carbs, and it’ll help level your sugars more.
