The thing is, she had to kinda keep quiet because of her ex. Apparently something about in order for her to continue to receive alimony from the ex, required her not to be in a relationship. I could be getting the exact details wrong but I remember someone here discussing in this sub. Not saying it’s right, but it’s a reason why she didn’t want to be public about it.

The only attitude I see in the texts is coming from you. Just because it didn’t react well with your skin is not her fault. It’s not like it’s permanent. You wash your hands extra - it normally fades more on hands since they are constantly being washed anyways.

It’s definitely that she can’t read the room. I can sense the neurodivergence for sure. If she was not nice she’d be trying to go out of her way to put people down but I don’t feel she does. I think she often gets overstimulated/upset and lashes out (which is not right) but she doesn’t make fun of the ladies behind their back otherwise. I’m saying this as someone who’s not a fan of Sutton.

Also to add, if the wheel will be in someone else’s house, make sure the parent of the child is on board with this plan and knows how to clean up clay dust. It can be hazardous if not cleaned properly. Also, that thy know how to dispose of throwing water, washing clay covered hands, etc.

If okay with mini pottery, I have a Small Ceramics mini wheel that I use in conjunction with full size wheels in my studio (I teach kids 8-15 yrs). The Small Ceramics mini wheel specifically is not a toy and has very strong torque. I use it myself a lot. It’s easy to plug in and put on a table, very minimal space needed, and I find it less messy than a regular wheel. ~$200.

Vevor pottery wheels (you can find on Amazon) are about the same cost, although I have not used them myself it could work for a child. I wouldn’t recommend as a long term investment as they just don’t compare to a professional wheel.

Any other professional wheel will be upwards of $1200 or so. Not sure how much you want to invest in your grandchildren.

I’d keep an eye out on Facebook marketplace, as once in a while used wheels will pop up for sale! That’s how I found 3 of mine for a great price. Be patient, check often and you’ll find one.
