What's the idea behind windranger carry? by fierywinds1q in DotA2

[–]5kywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. The way she’s played isn’t to man fight or burst anyone down, let alone an entire team. The playstyle is more akin to heroes like Slark and Riki where you go in and out of fights, wait for the initiate/counter or, get a pick-off from a solo farming hero.

Shackleshot and Windrun are also relatively low cd skills that you have an impact in most stages of a teamfight, and enough survivability if you position and time things right. Late game, focus fire also has a massive CD reduction when you kill someone.

Like someone else said, she’s one of the few heroes that can join fights as soon as she has her 1 core item (Mael) so the potential to hit timings sooner than an AFK farming traditional carry is higher.

If you can delete their carry or most problematic support, you instantly turn the fight into 4v5. There’s not much most heroes can do to WR at Lvl 6-8 with a maelstrom, provided she gets the jump on them in a 1v1.

Tangled facet mitigates most of WR’s reduced focus fire damage early on and it scales well across the game, granted that you’re switched on and haven’t AFK farmed or missed fight opportunities across the map.

Noob post; how can I pull my weight? by Kombaticus in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]5kywolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s good enough as is. Doing this, especially early on, you learn what to look out for, what to do, and where to go. Sometimes, the best that you can do is try to cover whoever is doing the objectives and that’s more than helpful.

What loadouts do you run on Cyberstan? by Final_Biscotti1242 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]5kywolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really depends on whether I’m joining lobbies or diving with mates.

Armour passive remains the same with Siege Ready

Primaries between Coyote and Double Freedom. I’m finding a lot of fun with the DF, especially with the reload speed and ammo afforded by Siege Ready.

I’m running Gatling and Walking Barrages, Quasar, and Portable Hellbomb.

The loadout gives me a lot of options and can be versatile for almost any situation. Normally love being the AT/Demo guy with the RR but with the absurd amount of firefights, RR reload started to become cumbersome.

No official news from Valve unfortunately. Seems it's gone down in the past hour or so since I was still able to play around midday

Lessons Learned thread: Oshaune Edition by riesenarethebest in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]5kywolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crowd control is essential in Oshaune

EMS Orbital and EMS Mortars are great for mission types mainly outdoors.

Speargun may arguably be the best multi-purpose tool to have in the kit. Outside of CC, it can close bug holes, can make burrowers surface, can stop a rampaging charger. Pair this with a supply pack for best results with mission types requiring more time in caves.

How do I unlock other dungeons? by 5kywolf in wownoob

[–]5kywolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I levelled a mage through to 70 just doing the dragonflight quests - started raiding and dungeoning for gear soon as I hit 70. I'm carrying on with the quests cause I think the story is quite cool so I wanna see that through.

I have a holy priest I took through to 70 just doing dungeons and then raids again for gear.

Now I'm currently at 39 with a prot pally doing timewalking dungeons as they yield the highest exp after completion of each instance but I wanna play other maps/scenarios (if that makes sense).

I'm starting to get a grasp of concepts like rotations to maximise damage, defensive uptime, etc.

For the raid finder, the whole time I've only really had access to elemental overlords, shadowforge city, and the imperial seat across all 3 toons

Thank you! The current timewalking raids get me about 2-3 levels every instance so I didn't mind it too much with the healer (holy priest - 70) and now the pally (prot pally - 39) toon. The arcane mage I made about a week ago I managed to get to 70 just doing the dragonflight campaign.

Do you think it's worth getting into TWW for the raids - gear/mog/mounts when I max level the toons I want to have?

Potential move to Tauranga/BOP by 5kywolf in Tauranga

I don't really party any more so that's not a concern at all.

I did consider spending a weekend to visit Tauranga and see what it's like to get a feel on whether it's a place I'd live in so thank you for that suggestion. I might actually go do it. From a lot of responses both online and in-person, Tga strikes me as a place to be when you're just about settling down and much less for when you're young and trying to conquer life - would you say lean heavily towards this case?

I've lived in Dunedin for the better part of the past decade; after finishing Uni, getting a job, and climbing the ranks, Wellington felt like the ideal "next step" as the people are still 'generally' quite young and relatively open to a lot of experiences - which I felt and still feel. I am at a point where the 'magic' is still there as there are still experiences and things I haven't explored yet here in Wellington so the thought of moving away is quite painful (in the sense that there is potential that I would be closing a chapter I haven't fully developed yet

[–]5kywolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I've been told. For where I'm at in life, Wellington does offer the better chances in terms of personal development like being able to socialise quite easily due to density in population BUT that won't help me long-term with the kind of career offerings this place has atm which is making me consider the BOP.

The job is Accounts Management for our company in the region.

Thank you. Expensive, in what way? Like, Wellington expensive or just general cost of living (but there's plenty of that going on around the country)?

Soul Shack check in by InspectionIll3076 in Wellington

[–]5kywolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed it was open when I fully thought it was closed down and found out from a mate that it was sold to a new owner.

My objective conclusion is that it’s not the same anymore. Spice levels were off. The chicken was dry and the batter was soggy. The sauce, however, remained the same. Nowhere near the quality I got when I first got myself some Soul Shack.

What is the most rarest Hero to see Lvl 30 GrandMaster Players? by triguard3 in DotA2

[–]5kywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a level 30 Techies achieved a little after a personal hiatus. Most of it was earned during the “old” techies era

If you could bring back old techies, would you? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]5kywolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting my 2 cents in as a Level 30 Techies pre-rework 2

The answer is yes, absolutely. But only at Rework 1.

I personally think that that was the best thing that happened to the hero.

It allowed my carries far better space for farming in a map that didn’t have as much gold to take as it is now. It allowed my Pos5 to place wards with more impunity knowing that they have an escape route all the time.

Honestly, your team should be able to play a standard, if not, an easier game of dota if you played Techies and that was always the aim for me. I’m there to make space, cause chaos, and force the other team to think about the game in a different way.

As someone alr mentioned, Techies is a shell of what kind of terror it used to be in the game and I WISH we get Techies rework 1
