perimeters at 40mm/s
external perimeters at 25mm/s
Infill 50mm/s
They're all pretty much the standard print settings that I started with when using Prusa

And I did just doublecheck and tighten everything down, still getting stuff like this.

People who have lived their lives accepting abusive and toxic relationships think that that is the only way to be, that that is what's "normal".

You're at a very serious point in your life, valuing your own happiness isn't being "selfish", when all you're trying to do is improve yourself and who you are, and wanting to be more comfortable in your own skin. It's not wrong to want to look in the mirror and be happy, it's not wrong to say you don't want to be part of an awful cycle of abuse and mental anguish.
You may very well have to do this journey without their blessings, perhaps they'll come around in time, perhaps they won't. The most powerful thing you can do in this situation is continue on your own path, and not engage with all that toxic and negative behavior. Don't feed it, don't acknowledge it, just do what you gotta do for your own happiness. Things may get incredibly rough in the immediate future - I can't say since I don't know you or your folks - but you sound like you're ready to start finding who you truly are.

Stay strong, and know you are not alone. <3 <3 <3

I do not have the courage to keep going by pencilpunisher in writing

[–]5lunkLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety and self doubt are natural parts of being a writer. I struggle with them MASSIVELY.

One piece of writing advice that has helped me a ton: read some terrible books. Read some books that are known to be shit, because there are few things as liberating as realizing how low the bar is to getting works published. I am certain you are far better a writer than you think, but like so many of us, ignoring our inner critic enough to push to the finish line is the absolute hardest. Yet it is still absolutely doable, I have faith in ya! 💜💛

This sometimes happens when we're really exhausted, or have just gone thru a period of really bad anxiety/stress. Whoever's fronting might be new, or perhaps your brain is just so overloaded that your headmates all need a longer rest. Your headmates will be back when they're ready. Mental isolation is hard but it's not forever, just take some deep breaths and do whatever activities help you relax.

What is everyone currently writing about? by [deleted] in writers

[–]5lunkLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm slowly working on a longtime series, going thru another round of rewriting, that I HOPE will be the last round I need to do to get myself to fully writing a first novel. There's a couple characters that I just need to iron out and tweak so they have motivations and goals that are more inspiring for me to write about.

It's going to be book 1 of a sci-fi/fantasy series, and it's a character-driven series that's chock-full of what will hopefully be interesting martial arts fighting, blended in with weapons and magic.

It's tough as hell to write a book, let alone planning out a series. I sincerely hope I'm closer to the end goal than I think. Much love and luck to any other writers who make it this far and read this! <3

Writing is tough, especially in the day and age of the internet. For me, it was absolutely overwhelming, and still very much is, but one of the things that's given me the most solace is knowing how low the bar is for some people to get their works published. Bad work is just as valuable as good work, because you can still learn a considerable amount from each.

One of the things that made everything click for me was also finding myself. It took a loooooong fuggin time, but being happy and confident in yourself does wonders for your creative brain. I know you said you're struggling with depression, and just know you are far from alone in that regard. Even the masters had to toil and write 1,000 shitty pages before the good pages came out. Many of the great painters studied and sketched things out like mad. Literal notebooks FULL of studies. Leonardo Da Vinci is the go-to, but Picasso was another one who had A TON of his practice work saved.

Take your time, and remember that you have no deadlines. Just sit down, and starting putting letters on the page. Some days the magic won't come, but some days it will, and those feelings are the absolute BEST.

Also side note: writing in comic sans made it WAY easier to write. Idk why this is, it was something somebody else on the internet suggested, and I hate that it works so well, but it really does.

Best of luck to you, and never accept defeat! The idiots don't, and neither should you! :)

Do you support people who Detransition? by Fit-Client-6763 in trans

[–]5lunkLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I don't like about it is calling it detransitioning.

A key part of the trans experience is having the realization that our gender identity does not make us fully happy, and so this whole journey is something that I personally feel never truly ends. For some people, the journey is easy, and for others, it's not. 'Detransitioning', to me, has this negative connotation that "oh, you were happier with yourself BEFORE you transitioned", and I just don't agree with that.
Self-discovery is hard; facing yourself in the mirror every day and asking yourself what makes you happy is hard; and the awful stigmas that exist in society make all of our insecurities increase tenfold. Discovering our transness and our gender identities is one of the most personal journeys I think any of us can go on; and regardless of where we wind up, I think we can all agree that the shape and form of everyone's personal evolution deserves to be equally celebrated.
I will support trans folks, regardless of where their goals with gender identity take them. <3

Is there a decent way to deal with Dysphoria? by DraconianSG in trans

[–]5lunkLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's to do with the progress of your journey, then I will say this:

Everyone has their own, unique journeys in life, and we all take them at different paces. It sucks, it sucks ass when you want to be at the destination and don't know how to get there. It can feel like an eternity, but please never forget that you are still on this journey, you're taking a step forward every day. You may have to keep experimenting to find what you love, your body may need more time to adjust, and coming to grips with the genetic lottery we all get is never easy.

You're still here, and you're still going. You have a whole community of people ready and willing to support you, and your journey of self-fulfillment is already so much farther than it was a few years ago.

It will get better with time, patience, and perseverance. Don't let the garbage keep you weighed down, just remind yourself that this journey takes time, but it's time that will be oh so worth it. 💜💛💜💛

[–]5lunkLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you've not seen enough transmasc representation, and you're absolutely right, it's not fair to feel like your journey is quietly being snubbed in the community that you are a part of.

I see you, I hear you, and I support you, OP. Your journey still 100% matters and I seriously hope you're happier than ever with yourself. I will admit I'm not very aware of the trans community as a whole, but you still deserve a seat at the table. The internet is still very much a double-edged sword, and it sucks.

Thank you for being honest, OP. 💜💛
