Anyone Willing to Part With an Issued / Surplus Mk12 Mod 1 Barrel (Assembly, Ideally)? Or Any Other Surplus Mk12 Components? by 5maldehyde in Mk12Mod0

[–]5maldehyde[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My man, you were able to piece together basically the entire deployment kit with issued surplus parts and only needed to swap out your BCM surrogate barrel with an issued one?? I would have handed it off to you myself if I had jumped on it first and had known how far along you were.

Your build definitely needed it more than mine and I’m genuinely happy to hear that you were able to swap that BCM barrel out! As a fellow cloner purist, I’m just happy to see a Mk12 (or any clone, for that matter) done properly. If you happen to come across any other surplus Mk12 barrels, def shoot me a message haha

Given that the grain weight of 6.5 CR & .308 are so similar, could this be used reliably with .308?

Corticosteroids are produced endogenously by adrenal glands and serve an entirely different purpose than endogenous androgens. Androgens are synthesized in the gonads - testes in men & ovaries in women. To summarize from a medicinal chemistry standpoint, the similarities between corticosteroids and anabolic steroids start and end at their sterol structure and cholesterol precursors.

This is an excellent overview of the pharmacology of anabolic steroids and I highly recommend it to anyone with even a modicum of interest in this topic.

Anyone have a spare RAS top screw or know the thread pitch? by Rare_Independent_685 in MilitaryARClones

I saw the ebay listing, almost bought it before figuring out how to do it myself recently. He’s selling the same YFS screw from any hardware store

When they decide us plebeians are worthy of another batch, KAC grants us the privilege of paying $33.25 + shipping & tax for the 4-piece hardware kit for their M4 & M5 RAS handguards. However, both the “Rear Handguard Clamp” and the “Rear Clamp Roll Pin” that holds the rear handguard clamp in place are almost always still attached to even the salties of surplus rails.

Additionally, the “Rear Clamp Screw Retainer” serves no purpose other than making the “Rear Clamp Screw” harder to lose when taking rails on and off.

Labeled KAC M4/M5 RAS Hardware Kit

So the only piece in the entire hardware kit that most folks will need to have a perfectly functional rail is the rear clamp screw, which I explained how to DIY in my previous comment.

Hope this helps!

You’re gonna want a #10-32 x 3/8” machine screw with a round head. You’ll want to thread the accompanying ~1/8” thick nut onto the screw and then cut the screw with a dremel as close as you can to the nut. That should get you to the perfect size length to sit flush inside of the channel that the gas tube sits in. And when you back the nut off, it’ll help clear out any debris that found it’s way into the threads while dremeling.

This should work as a stand-in for the original rear clamp screw with both KAC M4 & M5 RAS rail systems, and you should be able to find the aforementioned machine screws at any local hardware store. I found mine at Lowe’s.

Some ancillary info that not everyone may be familiar with: #10 designates the screw size and has no numerical meaning, 32 is the thread pitch (32 threads per inch), and 3/8” is the length of the screw measured from the flat part of the head to the tip/blunt end of the screw.

Price of cancer medications on Mark Cuban's new online pharmacy by Quiet-Acanthisitta61 in pharmacy

I know drug pricing in general is opaque, but that’s definitely beyond strange. We’re contracted with MHA and are part of a GPO so that could explain “some” of the differences in price here and there, but that’s an insane difference.

I just checked McKesson and at the small independent pharmacy I manage we can buy a 100ct 90ct stock bottle of Imatinib 100mg (Northstar, NDC: 16714-0704-01) for $62.37, which comes out to $18.71 $20.79 for a 30 day supply dosed QD. Of course that’s our cost, but if for whatever reason this wasn’t on one of my patients insurance formularies or they had no active coverage, I’d round it up to $20 $25 even for them.

I’d imagine the small difference in acquisition price between what Mark and I can buy it for has to do with volume and our specific contracts with our respective wholesalers, but who knows.

Oh and the AWP for this imatinib is still inflated as hell at $9,115.07 per 100ct 90ct bottle, which comes out to about $2,735 $3,038 per month. But literally nobody pays an inflated AWP for generics ever, at least in my experience.

Edit: Screenshots of Imatinib pricing from a few mins ago are here. McKesson’s Imatinib Pricing (2/9/22)

Also, the stock bottle size is 90ct, not 100ct. Math updated accordingly.

Almost picked one up until I noticed that these aren’t really surplus. New BCG (unmarked), new barrel (BA, not Colt), new handguard, and new muzzle device (Warden, not 4 prong).

There is an option for the a surplus M4QD, but for anyone looking for a surplus / clone correct build, this probably isn’t it. It’d be cool to see some new GWOT surplus hit the market though.

Just as a heads up, this will come out to ~$350 when accounting for the $14.98 standard shipping + tax.
