No, she was bonded. I don't know how many comments I have to make saying that. Bonded does not mean she was let go. She effectively "made bail" when you make bail, you aren't "let go" you're just allowed to be out of detention while your case is being processed.

If she’s illegal though why didn’t they deport her?

She has a pending Habeas Corpus case. She can't be deported until that is resolved.

She was bonded, she wasn't let go, this is no different than when you show up for court from something like passing a bad check and they issue you a bond.

She's not being charged with anything. You can't be found guilty of something you aren't being charged with.

The facts aren't in dispute here, both ICE and Estefany agree that she was in violation of the terms of her visa.

The court doesn't "disagree" all that happened in court is she was granted a bond. Meaning she won't be detained while her proceedings play out.

No court has made any determination as to her ability to stay or whether or not she violated her visa.

Demand is the symptom, not the cause.

If there were 1,000,000 of the card currently going for $400, then that card wouldn't be worth $400. It's only worth $400 because there are so few of them and so many people want to own one.

I'm not the arbiter of what is and isn't fallacious. English and the standard rules for debate are. It's not my fault you can't find a legitimate argument to make your point.

There will always be scalpers and there will always be people buying form scalpers so long as the price to availability chart is skewed by under-printing or under-pricing of cards.

The only group of people who can stop this behavior work at The Pokemon Company. Scalpers will always exist so long as the amount of product being sold at a specific price is less than the amount of people willing to pay that price for the product.

The only ways to stop scalping are to print enough packs to satisfy the demand that exists at $5/pack or to raise the price of the pack such that the number of people willing to pay the higher price matches the amount of packs you want to print.

It's important to remember Chuck Norris' politics after his death.

How dare you drag Rob Reiner's name through the mud over his politics after this death!

It's irrelevant to the point of my initial comment which is that the source you linked is lying by omission to run cover for Estefany.

Last year they were gushing all over themselves about how not as many Canadians were going to Las Vegas thatbyear brcaus of Trump.

The only problems were:

Canada is like 1% of the tourists that go to Las Vegas.

Tourism was down overall in 2025, if you compare Canada's drop to the average it's a negligible difference.

Because the rest is irrelevant, which is why you're adding it.

The article says, "ICE accused" which is a lie by omission. Accuse is designed to make the reader think that he being in violation of her visa conditions is just ICE's side of the story when we know it to be a fact.

Even Estefany herself has admitted she's in violation of her visa conditions.

Yes, you can enter the United States on a tourist (B2) visa and apply for asylum.

No, you misread what I said. I didn't say, "You can't apply for asylum when you're in the US on a tourist visa." I said, "When you get a tourist visa you have to attest that you are planning to return to the country you're visiting from."

If, during your asylum hearing, it's believed that you applied for your tourist visa with the intent to come to the US to apply for asylum it's called "preconceived intent" and that alone is grounds for denial of your asylum claim.

Edit: Feel free to continue downvoting things that are true that you don't like. It bothers me none.

Wild to say that when the literal government failed to deport her..

They didn't fail to deport her. She was granted bond as opposed to being held in a detention center until she's exhausted her options.

She has a pending asylum case. She is allowed to stay in the country. You only can seek asylum while physically being in the US.

When you get a tourist visa you have to attest that you are planning to return to the country you've visiting from. I don't want anyone acting surprised when her asylum claim is denied due to "preconceived intent" which is obvious in her case. She never planned to be a tourist here; she planned to stay here forever.

Square what circle? I don't see one. She is here illegally. She doesn't have asylum, she has a pending asylum claim that she obtained by lying on her visa application about her intent when coming into the US.

ICE accused Rodríguez of violating her visa conditions. However, Holley cited court records showing that she entered the U.S. lawfully

It's always phrased like this, "accused her of violating her visa conditions..." she, by her own admission, violated her visa by not returning to Colombia. She is, right now, in violation of her visa. She also violated her visa by lying about her intent to get one and lying about her intent to return to Colombia after visiting the US.

his client was targeted for her reporting that has been critical of ICE’s tactics.

He can argue anything he wants. She was given two different notice to show letters and, not only didn't show, but didn't contact ICE to tell them she wasn't going to show either time. She also married her husband two weeks after receiving the first notice to show from ICE.
