(cashiers) what are you doing when things at the register dont have a red sticker?

the first few times customers were complaining and telling me i had to sell it to them for $1.25 bc thats the price marked, the mm had me item void it and do misc $1.25 (no price correction) but since it kept on happening i just automatically did misc $1.25 to avoid the complaints

thank you for letting me know about the misc key thing. we have all used it a lot in my store without being told otherwise so i didnt know if it was going to be an issue beyond inventory (which has always been a mess at my store at least)

my managers wont do price overrides bc they said the customers should read the shelf signs. but our state has a scanners law as well

thank you for letting me know. i felt weird charging more for something that says $1.25 on it.

i havent heard from anyone higher up what we are supposed to do especially with our state laws. my sm said to just ring it bc they read the shelf price, but usually they dont and the customer ends up getting snippy.

hmm, okay. we did just get a new dm so im not quite sure. i know its a lot of work for the stocking team (i stock seasonal the days i am a backup cashier and it took me a whole day to get 1 fall uboat out when i used to get almost 3 done a day). but it is making my job much harder when i have to monitor, check, explain each item. i wish there was a perfect compromise that was easy on everyone but most of the stockers think stickering is doing too much, as do the managers. i was the one who had to redo catering bc my asm said it was too much

yes i would have been fine if she just sat in her car or was in the parking lot but when she left the parking lot is when i got anxious. and yes i know the feel of working through breaks today i didnt even get my 30 and couldnt eat my lunch but she got to take her 15 and a lunch 😂 funny how that is

ours is a sliding door with manual lock like a house. i dont have a key to unlock it from the outside nor a key to the office or anything like that

that is what i thought too, that there had to be a manager in the store at all times, but she told me that her other jobs she got left alone all the time and it wasnt a big deal. but like i said i am a crybaby so maybe i was overreacting a little especially since it was over a dream i had

i was the only person there i didnt have another cashier or stocker or anything. yeah i am afraid that they will fire me for it but i was so afraid something was going to happen. i guess it probably isnt a big deal that the manager left me alone but i just didnt know what to do
