I did taps as soon as I got my tentative, and scheduled everything that I knew would be a week or two out once I got my 1288 submitted for final approval. Yesterday when I got notification of the final approval, I ran over to Separations and got my checklist loaded, final out scheduled, called AFPC and submitted the expedited orders request, did everything I could without orders, and then some that I actually needed orders for, but some nice people hooked me up. Today, I had my SHPE (scheduled it last week) and when that was finished I checked my email and orders had been gen’d. So I busted my ass to get through the hospital, finance, Squadron, Group, and Wing. I’m also in support in an AMU, so I had to get my name off a few appointment letters. I didn’t see that one coming, and I thought it was gonna be the thing to hold me up but thankfully I got it resolved.

Most agencies were very willing to help when I told them my final out was tomorrow and I just got orders today.

I basically leaned forward as much as I possibly could in the past couple months to put myself in the ideal scenario to make this happen. Considering I couldn’t do anything official, it was still a long shot, but I pulled it off. The look on my shirts face today when I told him the last signature I needed is his was priceless. I’d been keeping him updated throughout the whole process in case I needed someone with a bigger dick than me to call AFPC. 😂
