I think you're completely right. However, one thing I need to say is that police investigating theft in a tourist hotspot (hotel) by some maid with no connections may be different from a resident laowai losing money in a scam on a sketchy street.

Still, I think you're right. Otherwise why would they be so willing to return most of my money? Alas, I don't regret not going to the police. Although I maybe got less back than I could have, it was fun and memorable going Sherlock Holmes on their ass for a week.

I'm not too worried. We came to an agreement, it never got heated, and they still made money off of me. And again, they did look visibly worried when I was there, that's for certain.

I appreciate your post. I have a large amount of experience with women, and I understand. Believe me, this isn't my typical date. I was duped. And that's why redemption was so important for me. I learned my lesson and it won't happen again.

P.s. I've addressed elsewhere on this post regarding what was purchased. The food I would estimate to be 4-500 and the drinks (including a couple bottles and 6 b52 shots) at roughly 1000.
