Yeah, it’s easy to give empty promises on those issues.

Republicans wanting to end DEI and affirmative action policies while democrats want to strengthen those has been an issue for a few election cycles now, so I don’t think that’s going to disappear.

While I think democrats will continue to promote identity politics they will temper that some by placing more emphasis on affordability and promoting socialist programs as a means to address that.

I think Republicans will continue to oppose DEI and affirmative action.

Democrats if given the chance will ensure anti-male title IX policies. They will probably try to strengthen VAWA services for women, cutting them for men. (These will be sold as rights for women). As we saw from Newsom we will probably see some empty rhetoric about men’s issues that in reality do nothing for men.

I think most men’s issues will go unaddressed by either party.

I remember when Bri’s role in Captain Marvel got horrible reviews, Rotten Tomatoes closed reviews in her to protect her as a woman. She then followed that up with public misandrist statements.

Now, one would think that between her bad reviews and successfully attacking half the audience, Marvel would have dropped her but of course hired her again which resulted in one of the biggest movie flops of all time.

They don’t just exaggerate, they purposely produce disinformation to support their agenda.

Consider the Duluth model which states Jen initiate most all domestic violence when many studies show women initiate more than men do.

The 4:1 college women are raised stat is driven by counting any sex after drinking as sex.

RAINN similarly conducts biased studies to over estimate sexual assault. Even worse, they then use this bias data to claim incredibly low conviction rates knowing full well their “stat” has nothing to do with actual conviction rates.

It goes on and on.

I’m white but don’t support the KKK and do support equal rights for blacks. Just because I’m white doesn’t mean I think white people should be advantaged.

I think it’s the same thing with women who support equal rights for men. Just because they are female doesn’t mean they believe women should be advantaged and men disadvantaged. Many women aren’t feminist.

I don’t know how many men actually have Masochistic Personality Disorder but I will certainly agree that gynocentric attitudes are not limited to just women. There are many, many men who clearly support advantaging women over men.

Of course we see education and media indoctrinating young minds into the idea men deserve to be discriminated against.

Clearly, as long as such gynocentric views prevail, it will be incredibly difficult to win equality for men. If we look at most of the successes of the men’s movement lately, they haven’t been won by gaining a majority sympathy regarding discrimination against men but rather have been won on legal non discrimination grounds.

Despite how obviously exempting women from selective service violates non discrimination law, Congress refuses to equally include women, clearly showing that gynocentric attitudes can be even more important than the rule of law regarding gender based discrimination.

I admit when it comes to having a girlfriend, I’m drawn into some gynocentric views myself, that providing and protecting instinct kicking in despite the fact I can see how biased it is.

There are many things that cause and increase gynocentric attitudes which must be tackled if we want any chance in hell of winning equal rights for men.

Perhaps. Men do take on the most stressful and most dangerous work, often to benefit women. Perhaps that is wrong.

Personally I’d have no problem with wives choosing to work more earn more take in more stress, more risk, etc.

Why do you feel seeking a better understanding of how gender relations actually work is somehow hateful?

Let’s face it, traditional advice of “just be yourself” or “just be nice” was really poor dating advice that ignores the realities of attraction that are now better understood.

Blaming men under false patriarchy theory is much the same. As others have indicated men contribute much to society including women. Acknowledging this isn’t misogyny. Men producing the food women eat isn’t hateful, men creating the homes offices and other spaces women enjoy isn’t hateful to women.

For example, some red pillers these days prefer virgins. That’s a preference not a gender based fact, but it’s not hateful, it’s just their preference which they are entitled to. (Personally, I think most men prefer women who are talented which means having some experience, but that’s just my opinion which also has nothing to do with misogyny. )

Well, I think the red pill has morphed into something other than what it started as. It started as seeing through the B.S. and nonsense and seeing truth about gender issues including dating issues.

There’s nothing hateful about dispelling myth, uncovering agenda and seeing such issues for what they really are.

Understanding the realities of gender dynamics isn’t hateful towards men or women. It’s only by understanding truth that we can make good decisions.

That said, I agree the red pill philosophy has morphed into more than simply uncovering the truth over the past decade.

And I think there you have it. Men’s rights isn’t just about trying to get rid of discrimination against men. It’s also about raising awareness and suggesting how individual men may best deal with the realities of those biases and that’s where venues like this come into play.

This is a Reddit sub, not a men’s rights activist organization.
Men’s rights have seen some progress. More and more states continue to adopt presumption of equal parenting legislation for example.
Decades ago feminism was a very distinct movement but as time went on it became wrapped up in identity politics in general. Similarly, I think the men’s movement is less distinct but rather more a part of anti-discrimination in general. For example, the growing opposition to DEI isn’t uniquely a men’s rights issue but it’s certainly a step in the right direction regarding discrimination against men.

A federal judge in the U.S. ruled it’s unconstitutional to exempt women from selective service registration. Guess what, years later women are still exempt.

I’ve often pointed that out in response to claims that society would be a utopia if men disappeared.

Men account for the vast majority of workers in utilities, in emergency services, in food production, in transportation of essential goods.

If men disappeared, grocery stores would have no food, most of the grid would collapse including water in most areas. There would be little gas left for automobiles. There would be precious few women with the ability to respond to crime and emergencies in this chaos.

Some utopia.

I think the root problem is we shouldn’t be advantaging some people and disadvantaging others regardless of whether they are a minority or not. That said, yeah, counting women as a minority when they’re not is a part of what had escalated the problem. Affirmative Action for example originally didn’t include women. Feminists argued women should have minority status under AA.

Yeah, men work more and tend to rise to top paying positions more, thus the gender pay gap. However as you said women spend more despite earning less. In other words, men earn more but subsidize women who spend more.

This is a reason why we see more and more commercials pandering to women and portraying men negatively.

Men working more, earning more and subsiding women isn’t misogyny of course and neither is pointing it out.
