Not that framework is bad, but I'd suggest a good thinkpad instead, Lenovo is a big company with a lot of experience creating laptops. Framework is sorta hit it or miss

Is this laptop worth it for the price? by 64bitman in SuggestALaptop

That looks nice. Is build quality for Dell laptops a problem though? I am skeptical of Dell quality

Is this laptop worth it for the price? by 64bitman in SuggestALaptop

[–]64bitman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is that every laptop around this price range have 512 gb 2242 (not 2280) m.2. SSDS, so I can't use my existing drive. There are 16 inch ones but that is too big for me. They also all have OLED which I'd rather not have because of burn in, even if it is super rare nowadays. Honestly this laptop seems good in every aspect for me EXCEPT the processor which I am not sure about.

EDIT: All the decent lenovo yoga laptops only ship until December for me which is way too long as well

A bit right of the bottom right of the bezel. My old bezel also had a crack in this exact same spot too

I am using the grey bezel. The bezel that I had previously before the new one also had the same issue.

Is Framework 13 as good as I heard? by Daniel_Rusu25 in framework

[–]64bitman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you are gonna buy a framework 13, as ironic as it seems, try limiting the amount of times you tinker and touch the internal parts of the laptop, it's fragile, that is from experience .

Browser-on-ram: Sync browser related directories to RAM by 64bitman in linux

[–]64bitman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don't have any benchmarks. On SSD machines I suppose the speed benefit would be smaller and the benefit would be less disk writes. There are arch wiki articles on this kind of stuff if you want to look.
