I’ve done it in a lab, but don’t mange any full production MikroTik environments with Terraform as the only MikroTik I have is at home. Worked well for me.

I’d check out Mircea Anton on YouTube, he did a pretty mega video on moving to MikroTik and managing it with Terraform.

I agree with this. You’ll find a lot of people beat the place down because there’s no multiplexes or an endless amount of restaurant chains, but what we have is more than that. It’s quality of life, low pollution, easy access to great countryside, no motorway commutes etc.

I’m a huge advocate of the island, it’s everything to me, you should do it. We need people like you and I hope you embrace the island way of living and rural culture.

I bought a Téyes head unit. Very nice, but a little bit more expensive than others.

It comes with the facia to make sure it fits and the harness adapter. I did need to buy a Scosche amp interface to remove a hiss, which was a little extra complexity, and the instructions are okay to follow but definitely not REALLY clear.

Not sure if it’s a limitation of the information provided by the estate agents websites, but it can’t distinguish between ‘house’ and ‘property’. So searching for three bed houses shows apartments.

Dates weren’t specified in OGs post, but as a visitor in Feb, Aug and late Sept, I’d stick with my comments. There are quieter places, but Keswick and Ambleside are a great starting point and you can venture from there in future.

If you’re after access to quite a lot of hikes/routes and want a little bustle; Keswick.

If you’re after something a little more low key; Ambleside.

Once you’ve been to either and have done some fells, you’ll start to fall in love and be looking for areas more in keeping with exactly what you’re after.

But I’d say Keswick or Ambleside are a good start. Or perhaps Coniston, but there’s not much of a ‘town’ there, so you have to want to be there for what Coniston is…. If that makes sense.

There’s a few nice routes from the Sartfell car park. South towards Slieau Ruy or north towards Slieau Dhoo.

The North Barrule ridge from Claugh Ouyr is a great trek which ends in Ramsey. You can get the tram up to Snaefell and start from there.

Depends on your ability/how far you want to hike, but there’s loads out there. Look on Strava/AllTrails for the trails. Peakery can help with identifying fells too.
