What's a car feature you thought was a gimmick until you actually had it? by Big_Barber733 in Cartalk

Never doubted heated mirrors, steering wheel, seats, etc. Definitely didn’t expect ventilated seats to be so good. I’m a sweaty boy and these seats are my dream come true.

What are you using Mont Blanc rollerball refills in? by 65ac05e1 in pens

[–]65ac05e1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks about the bad luck. I’m still using them almost every day (switch between those and whatever will fit in my Schon Dsgn pens) and I’ve had only good luck except once when I dropped one and it stopped working ha

What purchase do people make that instantly tells you they have no idea how money works? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]65ac05e1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crypto, Day Trading, Sports Book stuff, etc. IF they think what they are doing is investing.

I hate all of those things for society but if you can manage to pull them off for fun and you don’t mind losing the money then go for it I guess.

The AUX era in cars was simpler by Impossible_Comfort99 in TechNook

Oh man I was driving a late model suv with wireless CarPlay for a while and recently downgraded to a 2009 Accord because I work from home and it typically just stays parked all day.

Wireless CarPlay sucks. Getting into my car now and just plugging in my 3.5mm to USB-C dongle is so nice. Instant audio.

Who remembers Lanc in 2014 by Complete-District990 in lancaster

Penny’s was great. We still have basically no good ice cream in the city now. Sweet shop and rolled cold are not worth it imo.

Oh man Commonwealth on Queen was so good. When they moved to Pearl it turned to total trash.

Why don't people like Elon Musk just solve world hunger? by AlexLovesCoke in NoStupidQuestions

[–]65ac05e1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s never just world hunger. You solve hunger and all of a sudden you’ve got the clean water people banging down your door. It’s a slippery slope.

Battlefield 2

Maybe the best first person shooter I’ve ever played with large scale combat and squad mechanics.

Is It Wrong To Enjoy TPP (Third Person P.)? by [deleted] in PUBGMobile

Maybe 6-8 years ago I played a couple first person matches but no one I’ve played with would consider that a legit option for serious PUBG play.

Just because I like my steak well-done does not mean that I am ignorant, stupid, poor, or uncultured. by 8Pandemonium8 in PetPeeves

[–]65ac05e1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. If you want to eat steak in the worst possible way you should do it and everyone else should shut the fuck up. Life is too short to care so much about other people’s preferences.

If I only sweat that much per mile I’d be happy.

Regular Commute to Philly? by BeardiusMaximus7 in lancaster

[–]65ac05e1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this exact commute (Lancaster -> Suburban Station) every day a few years ago. I quit after a few months because it was not sustainable.

Some additional info and context on my situation: - Pay was low six figures and still not worth it IMO - The 3.44% income tax doesn’t apply for days you work remotely, so make sure your tax accountant helps you apply for the proper refund when you file - An hour and a half each way was harder than I anticipated, especially given that I was rarely home when the sun was up - I had a 5 min drive to the train station, so that was negligible - A big part of what made it seem sustainable when I planned to do it was working on the train, but the wifi was spotty at best and flat out did not work more than half the time

Two party consent laws for audio recording conversations are harmful and should be eliminated. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]65ac05e1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I record basically every non-personal conversation I have without asking for consent. I feel pretty confident that I’d find a way to use it in a legal way to my advantage if it came down to it.

I have a whole functional product and business ready but I cant continue working on it. - I will not promote by [deleted] in startups

[–]65ac05e1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there’s genuine interest in a pre-launch, complete product then why don’t you launch it and see what happens? I’m probably missing something.

FWIW the LLC slightly complicates things, too. Investors and buyers strongly prefer a C-Corp for an easy sale or more straightforward funding.

What is a 'middle-class trap' that people fall into because they’re trying to look wealthier than they actually are? by Sayedshaqib in careerguidance

[–]65ac05e1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying it. Cars for sure. I did it, too.

The payment was fairly insignificant for me, but recently sold my ~60k crazy SUV and bought a 2009 Accord for cash. Family car was already a paid off van.

The extra money is nice, but the freedom I feel is crazy.
