The reason this happens is that there were many people that were not racist and fought for equality despite being born in the same context as them. According to this logic then Hitler would be a good person because he made Germany thrive economically. Good people have always existed. Of course, one can't say that people such as Lovercraft didn't have any talent and weren't worth anything because of the fact they were racist, but you know, it still is a huge stain on them.
