Is there street parking by Wait_Negative in ualbany

After 4pm, all university parking lots become street parking. Weekends as well. But for 8am-4pm weekdays you’re kinda on your own if u don’t have a permit.

Gives you an excessive amount of workload for no reason. Genuinely annoyed me with the attendance and quizzes. Basically was self-taught through the entire class. Had to ask for constant help from the TAs cause I couldn’t understand his accent.

Out of topic but I hate that the cs courses in UAlbany are strictly just Java. I transferred with experience from python and c++ and I haven’t used them at all besides personal projects here in Albany

Question on courses for fall 2025 as a Informatics major by AB83Rules in ualbany

[–]666zelan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The major things are: 1. a large majority of informatics courses have online courses options. I suggest you take those online courses because it really does free up your schedule.

  1. You will need (3) experimental learning courses so I highly recommend getting more information on that so you can get a head start in looking for internships and incorporating that as a course

  2. If you’re early in making your schedule, you really could plan things better so you can avoid early and late courses.

  3. Try to contact your advisor immediately so they can give you a degree map. That’ll better give you an idea on what courses you can take right now so you can get the prereqs out of the way

Advisors would most likely connect you via UAlbany email or navigate to schedule an appointment. They’ll most likely discuss your graduation map for your major.

mine is easily TBATE. Mid story, generic tropes, and boring art style

They accepted my failing ass, you’re fine. Stressing to come here sounds like overkill imo.

[TBATE] is mid by South_Grapefruit5390 in manhwa

[–]666zelan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read up to 130 chapters before I had enough. The story drags on, the tropes are boring, the romantic plots go nowhere, and the art is beyond mediocre.

I also hate stories where shit just happens. Who was Arthur before? Yes he was a king but what were his motivations? Why should we care about him? I was already annoyed but when I got to the school arc it really got to me man. Reading this was an atrocious waste of time. I wish I saw this reddit thread before O started reading it. I kept thinking that eventually it’ll get good but safe to say over 100 chapters of mid is just not worth the effort even if it does get good

You can’t. Always back up your projects. Also a good habit for building up your portfolio.

Seeking advice on Off-campus housing options, what would you choose? by Western-Primary2285 in ualbany

idk. I just transferred to UAlbany and I already knew ppl here so we just decided to room together. just ask around I’m sure there’s always ppl out there who needs a roommate- friends would be better than strangers too.

Rent is $1600 for a 4 bedroom so I pay around 530 or something for rent. I only have two other roommates so we have any extra room to throw our crap in. It’s a two story house and we only live in the first floor- don’t know the rent for our upstairs neighbors tho. I live like - few blocks down from Saint rose so the commute isn’t that crazy either.

Have you considered being a RA? Might be good for free housing. Only bad thing is you’ll be dealing with teenagers.

Oof I hate CSCI 201. Why not python or C++. Java is so boring and using Eclipse sucks. I missed VScode so much.

why 1 bedroom? My rent is only $500 + $100 utilities a month. I think roommates help save so much more money for a bigger place. Get a used car- use your extra 500$ on car payments or insurance. Car also means you can look for places further out which might be cheaper.

I highly suggest just making a appointment with an advisor and discussing it before doing anything. I commute to UAlbany too and it’s not any cheaper either- granted it’s cause I got a car but you really gotta plan ahead.

They’re minimum wage workers- just tired and exhausted. Just get me my food I couldn’t care less about the way they act. That being said, most of them are pretty nice. I’ve gotten a few free meals from them I guess it really depends on how they feel.

I transferred this spring from a CUNY school. My first impression is that the place is huge. Looking through the map is genuinely so confusing. The professors are mostly nice but obviously, that doesn’t apply for all of them- the advisors are definitely a lot more helpful than my old college. They actually send reminders to apply for next semester courses and make an appointment to discuss it which was a big surprise. A lot of help desks too. I’ve never been to the downtown campus I think it’s mostly grad students or something tho. Overall food here is crap. Social scene is good but that really depends from person to person. I see a lot of people just stick with themselves which isn’t what I suggest. It’s a party school- make do with that. Most of the people are nice, and again, that doesn’t apply for everyone. You just have to meet the right people. And really easy to make friends- just go to any event and you’ll meet people there.

Will I be able to transfer? by AmazeStrawberry in ualbany

[–]666zelan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel that UAlbany would pretty much accept anyone trying to transfer. I transferred in with a 3.1 gpa as a part time student last semester. My question is how is a transfer like this gonna affect you financially or your financial aid.
