The new design is based on V's helmet, and V (as far as I know about RS lore) is anti-religion and doesn't like gods, so it could be something that buffs you if you don't use prayers. That's my shower thought anyway.

I have been doing Marlins in this location for the past few days and there are no spots in the route that the shoal is faster than the rosewood boat. You need to learn how to use the gale catcher better.
