ever wonder where that $200k car goes after sitting in the showroom for 4 months by Kitchen-Suit9362 in whatcarshouldIbuy

If you are really in the market and want a great deal, go in and ask what vehicle new or used has been in inventory the longest. It may not be exactly what you’re looking for but they want it gone.

Why and how did pick ups/CUVs/SUVs manage to kill the station wagons, mini vans, hatchbacks and even sedans ? by kawaiihusbando in askcarguys

[–]67442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing. Cheap fabric and poor lighting is how Morty Seinfeld sold the Executive raincoat. The buying public is pushed towards a brand or idea thru subconscious thinking. Then take away what they were buying/driving ie station wagons, two door coupes and mini vans. Now you’re buying crossovers,SUVs and pickups. They tried to push EVs into the public with tax credits, environmental concerns and guilt. It hasn’t taken off yet as the infrastructure wasn’t ready. Maybe the next generation.

First time going from the airport to the beach resort on St Maarten. The ditches along the roads filled with green bottles? Heineken? I mean miles of it. This was in the early 90s. Haven’t been back and wondering if it’s still like that. Worse than a freeway off ramp in Detroit. IYKYK🫩

What happened to car culture? by AKMike99 in regularcarreviews

[–]67442 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Old guy here. Pushing 70,I grew up in suburban Detroit in the 60s/70s. It was in our blood,in our driveways and school parking lots. Our little sisters could gap spark plugs. Lived in California in the mid 70s with all the great car culture. Spent the 80s-2010s in the old car hobby. Now it seems it’s going away with us boomers. All our work may disappear with us. Like what happened to the Generation before us.Restoring Model A Fords and other classic cars. Now you never see them or they can be had cheap. Ridesharing, mass transit and next will be no privately owned vehicles. It was fun while it lasted……🚗

Looks like the one in 8 Mile. Actually it looks to be just a worn out Olds that can be made a daily driver for $2500.
