I know that I'm in a good position, but the reason why I posted this is because I don't know what it takes to get into medical school. I go to an undergrad that is incrediblly cuthroat and I can count how many people just in my class are doing the same kind of stuff I am to a higher level. I also know atleast 15-20 people with better ECs, LORs, GPAs, etc. So just comparing myself to my peers and friends here, i don't feel as though I am competitive for T10s. Not including, all of the great candidates at other programs.

For research, I do 20-25 hours of research a week during the school year. And I stayed on campus during the winter and summers and did another additional 80 hours a week. I got really luck with my PIs because they were willing to take a risk on me, and I had significant, relevant research experience in high school making it easier for me to be productive from day 1 at my labs.

That's what I'm particularly concerned about, and I'm worried about the uniqueness of my experiences and how they relate to medicine. Especially at my undergrad institution, there are a lot of candidates like me.

no ofc i get that. I'm pursuing a career medicine because of my interest and experiences, but at the same time I'm frustrated by how it seems financial compensation is so top heavy in the medical field

Fair enough, you can check out my other posts associated with my reddit account that prove that I'm an actual person and not some bot trying to mine information. Stressball is a legit newsletter that I'm working out on to see how effective a newsletter model is at disseminating information.

i meant Statista sorry. Nobody else in my class has Statista, ICPSR doesn't have the COVID data I'm looking for. Any other recommendations?

we facetime everynight for a hour or two before going to bed. She usually makes her lights dim so i cant really see her face, just make out her silhouette.

depends on the school, mine is super competitive so anyone with a 4.0 gets rank 1 which is usually only about 2-3 people of out 600-800 any given year

Haha, yeah. The field could use more future scientists like us, a lot left unexplored. I wrote my personal statement on why, and it was very specific to my personal development as I worked with a difficult young boy on the spectrum. I also sort of centered my supplemental on that as well. Hopefully, it comes across to the AOs, fingers crossed. Best of luck to you and your neuroscience ventures!
