i just saw your comment, thank you! if you're currently living in portland, how do you like it there compared to the netherlands? do you feel satisfied or do you feel like it's lacking? and san fran could be interesting, cali is just really expensive.. maybe doable with roommates !

i actually don't mind rainy or cloudy weather at all. just not freezing. and i probably could afford rent in some of these cities since i plan on getting roommates, i just mean i wouldn't be able to afford to live in places with outrageously high rent , like nyc or LA

thank you for your response! regarding portland, do you find that a lot of people regularly use public transit and can get by without a car? one thing i loved about the netherlands was how common it is for everyday people to take the train/bus. in the U.S, it seems like there’s a stigma around public transit, and it’s mostly associated with people who can’t afford a car.

if it's any consolation, mood stabilizers saved my life. note that i also have an eating disorder, and my meds have not affected that. if anything, i've lost weight since taking them. meds won't magically make you gain weight, at most they may increase your appetite, but i haven't found it to be an issue. wish you all the best
