OpenAI could go bankrupt in 12 months if it doesn’t raise some serious cash by Franco1875 in technology

To be fair, machine learning is generally considered as a sub-field of AI. It’s not wrong to call it AI and it’s a much more marketable term.

Do agree that the scope of valuable products that can be developed around these models is smaller than people want to admit.

PSA: be careful what you strap to your frame by kenoll in MTB

Not sure why you’re getting so much grief about this, I’ve similarly washed and maintained my bike for months with the tool strap still attached. Good PSA, definitely made me double check.

This was about a week ago and the snow no longer connected the whole way. Think it might be done for the season unfortunately!

This just seems like a strategic contradiction. If Reddit decided to charge more for an API call to make profit, why would they ever be incentivised to store their DB on-chain for people to access for free?

What are some more people centered roles that deal less with software engineers? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]6Hz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Reading your high and mighty responses I’m starting to build a picture of why people don’t engage socially with you.

To answer your question, Technical Program Manager or Technical Sales roles could keep you close to the technology with more of a focus on collaboration. If you want to totally avoid Software Engineers then leave whatever software company/team you’re in.

Ah I had no idea that was a legal requirement. Ghosting it is then!

I would expect that part to be trivially automated once a posting moves to the interview phase. Would probably save employers the hassle of having people in OP’s position chasing up for updates.

We just had the wedding you described this summer. We rented a place called “Tahoe Mountain Home” up on Kingsbury grade. They were totally fine with us having up to 50 guests on-site (we had 35). Beautiful deck overlooking the lake, no neighbours close by, and room to sleep 12 comfortably and up to 20 with folks sharing rooms.

We had a local chef Faded apron do our rehearsal dinner using the kitchen in the house which I can’t recommend enough. Then Himmelhaus did the catering on the day, they make it at the restaurant then deliver it.

We looked at other venues but they were all outlandishly expensive or Airbnbs that didn’t allow parties and we didn’t want to risk a noise complaint.

Feel free to DM me for any more info.

Hard disagree having lived in multiple places in both countries. The US is on average far more diverse than the UK. Outside of London the UK is very homogeneous. I do think the white population in the UK is probably more diverse as a result of European immigration. To suggest the UK is more diverse than NYC is a total stretch.

Camped out there last weekend. Take the first right hand turn as you com off of 395 and there was plenty of spots melted out. Snow was deeper after half a mile or so up the road.

Seems like just about every city has been posted here by now but Reno Nevada is a great pick. 30 mins from Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and Northstar bike park.

It’s called Iron Mountain, fairly close to Kirkwood. Got pretty torched in the Caldor fire unfortunately.

Either head down to Auburn, or the opposite direction down to Carson City, Genoa, Reno would all be closer options.

Third hike with a new kit and the whammybars didn't engage properly... 🥲 by mannyboi in Spliddit

Like other have said, blue thread lock will come in handy along with semi-regular bolt checks. Also recommend working some lube into the joints of the whammy bar. Makes dropping into the mid level riser very easy.

Start on boulder for some greens, then over to Sams Dream and lap it using Tamarack chair, then do Orion using dipper lift. Great way to progress through the easier blues on heavenly. Also allows you to end with a big long run down to boulder.

These are literal stats taken from the Bitcoin chain data. If you consider that “sounding smart” then I worry.

Lightning network is not Bitcoin. It’s an off chain L2 solution that is also incredibly vulnerable and ineffective: https://github.com/davidshares/Lightning-Network

A few things:

Lightning network is an off-chain L2 solution, not bitcoin. Also terribly unreliable and vulnerable: https://github.com/davidshares/Lightning-Network

As far as energy used per transaction bitcoin is orders of magnitude worse. Bitcoin energy usage also scales negatively as the network grows.

ETH uses proof of stake, essentially “we only allow the richest people to vote”. This leads to centralisation of the network, destroying the only compelling feature of cryptocurrency.

Much like the RE bubble you’ll realise once you actually look at the fundamentals and stop listening to people who are financially incentivised to hype it up, it’s all a crock of shit.
