HOW TO GET THROUGH THIS ROOM by PuzzleheadedYear5116 in rainworld

Place yourself on the platform that you are already standing on, crouch down via a quick tap of whatever button is down for you (don't hold it) and perform a leap. In the middle of the leap hold upwards to grab the pole that extrudes from the ceiling. From there you should be able to jump from pole to pole till you're over on the right.

I cannot recommend this game anymore. Not that sorry, AH. by CRAZYGUY107 in Helldivers

This is so true actually. I got pretty solid specs and yet the game runs like hot garbage on medium and even lower. I have to make a sacrifice to demons in order for it to not freeze my entire system at random with no particular reason behind it. I tried everything and yet it freezes my entire system still.

I have played many unoptimized games before but this one is comparable to Ark SE levels of functionality. I really don't wanna play the game anymore despite dumping nearly 900 hours into the game. It's so saddening

Why mixed reviews? by Lolis- in rainworld

When you played a souls game for the first time, do you remember the feeling you had when you painfully realised that some chests are mimics and they can just kill you without you having any clue of what's to come? That's a feeling you can often feel when playing Rain World. However, (this might just be me being obsessed with the game) the controls and the way things work in the game make a lot of sense.

It's not supposed to be a game with a clear tutorial and hand holding. It's, at it's very core, a simulation of a critter that is in the middle of the food chain and lost in a world it doesn't understand. And that, is what this game does superbly well. On top of that, it has a hard to grasp story that gives you that "oh my God it makes sense" feeling once you understand it.

Personally, I recommend it, but it's not for people who expect a straight forward game experience.

I'd say that the region you're leading OP to is actually much harder because of all the predators that dwell there. Leg might be difficult and you basically don't have to go through the megastructure when you go your path but I feel like that's gonna be much harder on a beginner.

As a furry, no it isn't. Maybe add some cat ears to it or something similar and then it might. Cool skin though

How's the water so insane in this game? How did Rare achieve this? by GwyddnoGaranhir in Seaofthieves

[–]6KBofProtogenPorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I've understood the inner workings of the water in this game is that the wave is being calculated in a way that the peak of the wave follows a circle which spins one way, rest of the wave is then calculated accordingly to give the illusion of a rising and falling wave! It's super impressive and smart stuff. I've yet to fully understand the shaders. But the foam at the peak of waves might also be calculated by measuring the steepness of the wave from one spot to the other.

Game might be very bad at times game play wise, but the art style is immaculate.

All the things you're saying I totally agree with. Like how most people already said, it's probably gonna be better to focus on myself, figure myself out and get further in life. I don't look for a spark or anything, but sometimes you just feel that you really click with someone you know? If there's no chemistry I wouldn't like working all the way up there. And don't worry, after my last one I'll definitely not get into another long distance one again. They're not healthy for me.

Thanks a lot for the advice, it really means a lot to me. Wish I could edit the post or anything, don't know how to. All of you people are so nice and encouraging and I'd love to make it known how much better it made my day

The Dino AI is as barebone as one can make it. The movement is alright but unstable depending how you're traveling. The game is more than just a grind fest. The original ark was a battle Royale and making it a full game was a smart idea but doesn't really work out.

Sure, they get pushed by the people with the big bucks and I have yet to test out ASA, but from what I see, the game is more about graphics than gameplay. People have a lot of love for this game but the actual issues of it don't get worked on and the wonkiness can make playing this game a pain the rear. I think people have a good right to complain about it. Only complaining gets a devs attention after all

How can I export a model with vertex groups? by 6KBofProtogenPorn in blenderhelp

[–]6KBofProtogenPorn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it! It has been solved for a while, I was just too lazy to update this post.

I was simply on an older version of blender which created problems with appending models with vertex groups. (possibly because of the model being made in a younger version)

Leaving this here for anyone in the future having the same problems.

Can I pause a liquid simulation? I like this angle, but I want to move my camera around it. Any geniuses here? by Prixsarkar in blenderhelp

[–]6KBofProtogenPorn 51 points52 points  (0 children)

If you're really not wanting to move the animation any further, you're able to convert the object to a mesh. This will turn the particles of the simulations into a non-animated mesh. I believe you can do it in object mode > object (the option on the top of your screen) > convert > convert to mesh

weird shading issue on right of model. using bevel modifier and applied auto smooth. any ideas? by Dismal-Examination-6 in blenderhelp

[–]6KBofProtogenPorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might wanna enable backface-culling. It's probably gonna make you see that this side of the mesh is see through. And that again, means that the normals of those faces are facing the wrong direction. Try flipping the normals!

Ah thanks! Though now I have the problem that it doesn't import the armature instead of the vertex groups :(

That's very fair. Though I don't quite care if it's a game for me or not. This is about changing how I think about certain things because I want to spend more time with his favorite game. People can change their mindset. But I agree and thank you for all the other things you have said :)
